Happy 10th Birthday// Sunday Post #24

 The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly from The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. 

Today is my youngest daughter's birthday. She turned 10. Double digits. She promptly informed me when she came into my room at the butt crack of dawn that she was not a baby anymore. Broke my damn heart. Yesterday for her birthday, my hubby took her and our middle child to get their hair dyed. Our oldest got hers dyed when she turned 10 and it was only fair. Addy got pink and Airy chose green, which I know will probably never come out. We also had our internet go out yesterday and the reason why this is so late. We have to have a repair guy come out either tomorrow or Tuesday to replace the router because it is not connecting. Thankfully, we have our SUV wifi and we are pulling off that for a hour here and there. Thank you onstar.

That's basically all there is for this week. Nothing exciting or frustrating happened before the internet and hair job. If you could dye your hair any color, what would it be.

I got two books from NetGalley. I am staying true to my book buying ban and didn't get anything from the library for myself. Now I just need to read my NetGalley because my ratio is HORRENDOUS!!

We didn't really watch much of anything this week because it was a heavy work week for my husband and I. We did watch Chapter 6 of The Book of Boba Fett which was even better than Chapter 5 because REASONS!!!! We also watched the 4th episode of Superman and Lois and shit is hitting the fan.

Review: To Trust in What We Cannot See by Dennis Mansfield

 An e-book that I have had for a while and just now getting too and I am sad to say that I didn't like it. This is a historical fiction thriller that deals with dictators back in World War 1 and World War 2. I was interested in this book because it mentions killing Adolf Hitler and changing the world. That happens, but then it gets reversed. There are so many historical figures that are interwoven in this story, that it goes all the way back to the civil war and Ulysses S. Grant. 

It goes into scientific detail about time travel and dimensions and ley lines that one of main characters is adamant that they be called something else because only scientific amateur's only call them ley lines. 

The story starts off with an American guy riding his bike in modern day Austria. He decides to go into this coffee shop and get a hot chocolate because he is obsessed. This other guy, the professor walks up to him and starts chatting and they each recognize their mid west accents. The professor starts talking to Author who is now known throughout the whole book. The professor starts talking about time travel and how all the dictators in 1940's Europe, met in that very same cafe before they became the evil monsters that they were. They then time travel back to 1913 and shit hits the fan.

I was very bored and most of the time confused with this story because they would start talking about Issac Newton and then immediately start talking about Hitler and is failed attempt to get into Art school and then start talking about the civil was and two brothers from Ohio. The author was trying to link historical figures together and time travel to gravity. There is supposed to be a sequel but I am going to be giving that a hard pass.

Review: Laura Sebastian has done it again. I am completely obsessed with this. I want to read this as fast as I can, but I also don't want it to end so soon. Her Ash Princess trilogy is an all time favorite and my expectations for this has been met and more.
