Letter Curriculum: Week 28

This week, we did the letter W. This week went by very quickly and very easy for Samantha. She was mostly excited about her cutting activity on Thanksgiving.

Monday:
I didn't have much planned for Monday because I didn't want her to get bored of school at the beginning of the week, and not want to do anything on Thursday.

Tuesday:

This was the only cute weekday worksheet I could find.

To get her in the Thanksgiving spirit.

Wednesday: We didn't do school. The girls helped me get the house in order for my parent's visit and to clean the kitchen so I could be able to function properly.

Thursday: I gave Samantha a bunch of thanksgiving papers to cut, and I printed some papers for Ariana to color.

Friday: We were beyond exhausted and had a short sweet school day. We didn't do review except poem and then words. She did her workbook and listened to her music.

Our Thanksgiving

We slept in on Thanksgiving. It felt great not to hear an alarm clock, and snuggle with Cayce. When we got up, we went straight to cooking. We made a blessing loaf again this year for breakfast. I didn't eat much of it because I was waiting for TURKEY!!!!

Ready to play after breakfast
We were washing dishes and cooking all morning. The good thing about being in the kitchen all day was the James Bond marathon. I love the James Bond movies. I really want to read the books and see how different they are.

a new turkey rub. southwestern style turkey. I will have to tweak the recipe some because it turned out kinda dry. But the cinnamon on the turkey was DELICIOUS!

My mom and dad came over and they instantly smelled the turkey. My mom brought some Grinch kabobs, sweet potato soufflé. We watched some of the football game and then turned it on the free trial of starz and watched the end of Finding Nemo.

After my mom and dad left, we got the tree and decorations out. We tested our lights and they were dead. Cayce went to Wal-Mart and got some new lights and a new tree topper. When he got back home, I started school with the kids. They did their Thanksgiving papers.

My love and I

After they did their school, we out the tree up. It was very uncomfortably for me because I had to untwist the fake branches and my back was hurting like hell.

Happy Thanksgiving

It sure is smelling good here in the Barden household. Even though I don't have my turkey in the oven yet, almost everything else is done. Have the James Bond marathon going in the living room and the kids are playing. Waiting for my mom and dad to get here. Pictures and more to come, but right now I have to go back into my kitchen.

I love the above picture. I got it off one of the Georgia Bulldog groups that I'm in and the person who made this, always makes beautiful bulldawg photos.

Preparing for Thanksgiving

I have so much to do today to get ready for tomorrow. I have to clean my entire house and get my kitchen ready for the mass amount of cooking I will be doing tomorrow. I'm so thankful that Cayce gets tomorrow and Friday off from work. The store did want him to come in on Thanksgiving, but I put my foot down on that. I will not let Cayce work on holidays.

I took my turkey out of the freezer on Monday afternoon, and it is STILL frozen. I don't want to take it out and put it in my sink, but if it's still frozen tonight, I have no choice. I have to get the girls rooms presentable and living room cleaned.

Tomorrow while we are cooking, we are going to be watching old James Bond movies. Cayce and I have been wanting to watch these for a while now, and tomorrow SyFy is having a marathon.  We are going to go through toys and clothes. We are hoping to go get the yard cleaned up. I'm sick of looking at leaves. Tomorrow night, we will be putting up our Christmas tree. It's going to be BEAUTIFUL!

Sunday night, Cayce and I went Christmas gift shopping for the girls. We have to get a couple more gifts to get. We have to get individual gifts for the girls.

Now I'm off to clean my room, because I can't stand how it looks right now.
