School Week 15 Photos

It was a short and fun week. I did plan to get through a lot of work this week but that didn't happen. But we do have a lot to get done before we have our next day off which will be my birthday next month on the 21st.

Monday: We had a late start to the day. It will always be the same. We had morning work to complete and after we watched the last two episodes of Round Planet on Netflix. Addy then watched Super why while Ariana did reading time and Sammy worked on Easy Peasy lessons. After an hour, they switched. Ariana is getting better with her typing and Sammy is getting better with her reading. They both have something they are working towards at the end of the year. Ariana wants a piano and Sammy wants to go on a trip to the beach with my parents.

Addy finished watching Super Why and did some pages in her workbook.

We finished the day with watching three more episodes of Liberty's Kids. We are done with the revolutionary war, but we are going to start delving more into the people who were the most important.

Tuesday:We started at the same time again this morning. Addy started her day with Easy Peasy while Sammy and Airy did a free write. After they worked on that for a good hour, we read another Magic Treehouse book.
After we read, Addy watched Leapfrog, and Airy did reading time while Sammy worked on Easy Peasy. They ended the day after switching and doing that for another hour. Addy ended her day with her cutting workbook.

Wednesday: We had an early start to the day because we were ready for our 4 day break. Addy started her day with Thanksgiving coloring pages and Sammy and Airy had word searches. After, I had Sammy work on vocab words, Ariana had some reading time to herself and Addy looked at her books. We read another magic tree house book and watched Pocahontas again to bring in Thanksgiving. We ended the day with starting out turkey hats. We finished them on Thanksgiving morning before we left to go to my parents house.

Thursday: No School. HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Friday: No School.

School Week 14 Photos

I know this is really late, but I sort of took a week long break off from blogging. I didn't plan it, it was just not a priority for me. But I am going to be back at it this week....hopefully...maybe.. try to at least.

Monday 11/13: It was an early morning to start off the week. Sammy was the first to get started and she worked on Easy Peasy and I got Ariana and Adalyn started at the same time. Sammy worked on Easy Peasy for an hour and then Ariana started her Easy Peasy and Addy did number and alphabet worksheets.
getting better with her typing. she loves it.

I love this face
They also did reading eggs today and they had a good productive day. Addy played with dominoes while her sisters were doing Reading Eggs and then they watched three episodes of Liberty's Kids.

To end the day, Addy finished her day with her Easy Peasy work.

Tuesday: NO Pictures. We had a very late start to the morning. This usually happens whenever we have an early morning, it is always followed by a late start the next day or the rest of the week. After the girls finished their morning work, I had Sammy and Airy do a writing prompt on Would they own their a chocolate factory. While they did that, I had Addy coloring chocolate factory coloring pages. Then they watched a BBC documentary on Secrets of Chocolate and we learned a lot.  We watched another video on how chocolate is made and then we finished the day with Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Wednesday: We had an early start day with morning work and then Airy did reading time while Samantha worked on Reading Eggs mathseeds. Then I had Sammy and Airy switchwhile Addy watched Leapfrog again on Netflix. She is getting so much better with her numbers and counting and I will be stopping the Leapfrog re-watch before January.

When they were done with all that work, we started reading another Humphrey book and I am not of fan of this Humphrey's Tales series, and I doubt that I will be getting any more of those books from the library. After we read for the day, I had Addy work on her Easy Peasy. She is going to be working more on her Reading Eggs in December. While she did that, I had Sammy and airy do another writing prompt on buying their own Wonka bar.

We finished the day with watching a documentary on Roald Dahl and how he came up with all his stories and the girls reacted at every mention of his books that we read. Their favorite Roald Dahl book is definitely The BFG.  **WHIZZPOPPER**

Thursday: We started the day with watching a new science documentary on Netflix called Round Planet and the commentator made the girls laugh their butts off. We finished reading Humphrey's School Fair Surprise and The Beatrice Letters.

Today was just a day of reading and watching educational shows, so we finished our day with watching three episodes of Liberty's Kids.

Friday: Started the morning once again with morning work and a couple more episodes of Round Planet. After we watched those, we read another Magic Tree House book called Mummies in the Morning. After we read that book, Addy worked on Easy Peasy, Sammy did workbook pages and Ariana read to me.

After Addy finished her Easy peasy lessons for the day, she worked with her Leapfrog tablet while Sammy and Airy finished what they were doing and we finished the long day with episode 125 of Liberty's Kids.

Saturday: Field Trip Day. We officially ended our Revolutionary war unit today with a trip to Ninety Six National Historic Site.  It was a great walk in the woods and seeing where the fort was and the village corners was amazing and we are going to plan another trip back to hike the trails for the experience.

School Week 13 Photos

The weekend got away from me and I totally forgot all about posting. We had a good productive week of school and we are knocking this week out as well. I don't want this weeks post to go up late but it might be Sunday or Monday.

Monday: We started our morning with watching an episode of a Galapagos Island documentary, and Sammy and Airy had to write about what they watched and I talked about it with Addy and which kinds of animals she saw. After i had Sammy work in her workbook and Ariana worked on her Reading Eggs Mathseeds lessons.

After an hour, I had both of them switch and Addy continued watching Leapfrog.

Wended the day with reading more Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and watching a couple more episodes of Liberty Kids.

Tuesday: No Pictures. We finished reading Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and started reading The Beatrice Letters. Ever since that book arrived in the mail, the girls have been eager to go back to the A Series of Unfortunate Events world. They watched the last two episodes of Galapagos. Sammy and Airy worked in their workbooks after and Addy played on her Leapfrog tablet.

Wednesday: No Pictures. The girls started their morning with a free write and drawing session. After that they played Candy Land and Hi Ho Cherry O together and helped Addy learn her colors and numbers a little bit more. Afterwards, Sammy had reading time, Airy worked on spelling worksheets and Addy had Easy Peasy. We ended our day with reading a Magic Tree House book called Revolutionary War on Wednesday.

Thursday: Addy started her morning with Super Why while Sammy had another reading time to herself and Ariana worked on Easy Peasy lessons. After she got done watching Super Why, I had some number worksheets for Addy to work on. She is getting good at remembering her numbers and the order they go in. After Airy and Sammy spent an hour doing what they were working on, they switched. We ended the day with watching two more episodes of Liberty's Kids.

Friday: We started the morning once again with board games. They then worked on a community worker craft. Airy and Addy wanted to do firefighter hats as an ode to their uncle. and Sammy wanted to be a police girl.

When they were done with their craft, they went to work on Easy Peasy and workbook pages. While Addy was working on her shape wreath, I had Ariana and Samantha watch a couple YouTube videos on Veterans Day history.

Veterans Day writing prompt

I had them watch some more Liberty Kids. Addy ended her day after that and I had Sammy read some more to herself while Ariana worked on some more Reading Eggs and then after she worked on that for 30 minutes, she was done for the day and Sammy worked on her Reading Eggs mathseeds.

This school year is going by so quick and before I know it, it will be time for me to turn in their 90 day progress reports. Time needs to slow down a little.

Review: Reborn by Jessica Miller

This is book 2 in the Wanderers series. I read the first book back in 2015. I liked it so much and I really wanted to continue with the series right away, but other books came first and I didn't realize there were kindle editions until recently. I had to go back a read my review of the first one to remember the character names. I remembered the story very well. I gave the first book a 4 out of 5 and if you want to go read that review you can click here.

This second one was exactly like the first in my opinion, just different setting and characters. It still felt like reading a fan fiction and there were some grammatical errors throughout the book. I hated the repetitive argument scenes between Ronan and Elle, the training scenes were all the same. The author made Elle seem like a whore because she had two different love interests in this story and all the while she is still hung up on her dead boyfriends *plural*. She kept telling herself that she needed to let Tristan go and at the very end, she finds out he is still alive and she leaves her current boyfriend Ronan to go search for Tristan and she makes out with Kyle's ghost in her hospital room.

I ended up giving this novel a 3 out of 5. It was not the best and I feel that this story line made no since. Jack is finally dead or may be dead. This series has a lot of plot holes and I am hoping that the third and fourth books are better than this one.

Review: Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo

About the BookShe will become one of the world’s greatest heroes: WONDER WOMAN. But first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning. . . .

Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law—risking exile—to save a mere mortal. Even worse, Alia Keralis is no ordinary girl and with this single brave act, Diana may have doomed the world.

My Thoughts: The only DC character I actually like besides Batman. I was super excited to read this book when I first heard about it and I was going to by a copy for my self for my birthday but thanks to Blogging For Books, I got a early birthday present. I am more into Marvel characters and know everything there is to know about Batman and growing up, I only knew of Wonder Woman to be a kick ass female super hero.  I don't really like reading comic books, but reading this character in this format was a great way to learn about her better.

About the AuthorLEIGH BARDUGO is the #1 New York Times bestselling and USA Today bestselling author of Six of Crows, Crooked Kingdom, and the Shadow and Bone Trilogy.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Review: Stars Above by Marissa Meyer

I am going to review each of the short stories that I read in order instead of how they are ordered in the book.

1. The Mechanic: This short story is from Kai's POV when he met Cinder for the first time in the New Beijing Market. I was not impressed with this short story and I could have done without. I don't care for Kai or Cinder. It was also very sexist of Kai when he found out that Linh Cinder was a young girl instead of an old man like he assumed.

2. The Little Android: I had to do a little bit of research on this short, because when I read it, it thoroughly confused me. It is supposedly a retelling of The Little Mermaid. Once again, I was never a fan of The Little Mermaid and don't remember watching it. Before I looked more into this story, my thoughts were that it would be Nansi or Iko even, but that changed when this little lovesick droid went to Cinder. It has a one scene with Cinder but this novella doesn't need to be read to understand the universe. We never found out who Miko and Dataran truly are.

3. The Queen's Army: This one is my second favorite out of the whole book. It gives all the details of the wolf soldiers. We are reading it from Ze'ev aka Wolf's POV as he goes through the surgery and training and eventually becoming Alpha of his pack. This can be read after Scarlet so you can better understand it, or you can read it before like I did to be acquainted with Wolf.

4. The Keeper: This story follows Scarlet's grandmother and how she helped Cinder become the Cyborg that she is today. We also get more of a background on Scarlet's childhood and family life. I can't say much without giving away most of the series plot.

5. Glitches: This is the pre-quel novella to the whole series that Marissa Meyer released. It is about Cinder meeting her new "adoptive" family in New Beijing. We meet Linh Garan, Linh Adri, Pearl nd Peony. She is hated right away and at the very end, Linh Garan attracts Letumosis and we meet Iko as well. Cinder put her back together to show her new family that she wasn't worthless.

6. After Sunshine Passes By: This is where we meet Cress. You can read this before or after Cress. I read it before and it gives all the background of her being with all the other shells and becoming a hacker for the queen and eventually being imprisoned on her satellite at a very young age.

7. Carswell's Guide To Being Lucky: This novel is all about Thorne's childhood. How is was a sweetheart with the girls in his grade. How is gambled and made money. His family life and how is father expected him to be a general when he really wanted to be a Rampion pilot.

8. The Princess & The Guard: This is set around Winter and Jacin's friendship and it is mostly about why Winter stopped using her Glamour and the events that surrounded that decision.

9. Something Old, Something New: When I got through reading Winter, I was so in love with Wolf and Scarlet's relationship. They are one of my favorite OTP's. I went online and looked up fan art, and fan fiction on these two and there are not many out there. So imagine my surprise when I went to go read the last novella and it is about WOLF AND SCARLET GETTING MARRIED!!!!!! I squealed like the fan girl I was and the wedding scene was so beautiful and I could not keep the grin off my face the entire time. This novella put an end to my searching for fanfiction of these two because I got my happy ending.
