Paint a Bank!!

Last month on a trip to the Dollar Tree, Samantha saw these little piggy banks that could be painted. They had their dollars to spend, and so that's what they chose. It being a busy month, they finally got around to doing them tonight. Cayce just got home from work, and he sat them down at the table and helped them paint.

Samantha had a little train and Ariana got a pig. They are so cute. I was in the room awaiting pictures because I wasn't aloud to watch because it was "daddy" time. I wasn't going to argue because they miss Cayce while he is working.

Picture time:

Ready to get started!
Finished with the first coat

Intense concentration!

They had a blast painting and I also made them some homemade paint that I will post later. They love doing crafts and I hope one day that there skills will develop better.

Weekend Plans

We are stuck inside today because the weather is beyond RETARDED! It's freezing one day, hot the next and now cold and rainy today. Samantha and I are watching Ghost Adventures right now while Airy and Addy are taking their naps. We are going to make some homemade kid paint tonight when Cayce gets home and we are going to have a shrimp bog for dinner.

Tomorrow morning, I'm hoping that the weather is better so we can at least go to the track and walk around and let out some of our pent up energy from today. Cayce doesn't have to go in till 2, so it will be a good couple hours for the kids. The kids will be painting their little piggy banks tomorrow with Cayce. I will have some time to work on school work.

On Sunday, we are going to take a little family trip because Cayce has the day off completely. I want to do some more geocaching since the temperature will be in the 60's. I want to take the kids to Sweet Frog, which is a frozen yogurt place. I have a feeling that this is going to be a great weekend.

What A Day!

It has been an energetic day for me. Last night, I thought that today would be like every other day. We watched a movie till the early morning and Cayce had to leave at 7:30 this morning. I usually sleep in till about 9:30, that wasn't the case this morning. After Cayce left, I got straight up and got breakfast on the table, myself situated. The bed got made before 8:15, and the dishes were put up and more dishes starting to soak in the sink.

The girls got up at 8:30 which was surprising because Adalyn was the first to wake up this morning, and she usually wakes up around 9:45-10:00. I got the girls dressed and fed and then I had some me time to do some Swagbucks. Around lunch time, Cayce came home and fixed Adalyn's bed and we had lunch. The girls loved their lunch because they got to eat with Cayce and he put Ariana and Adalyn down for their naps.

During their naps, I got some much needed work done on Ariana's school. I got the rest of her week's planned out and now all I have to do is write down her workbook page numbers before the start of every week. Now I am slowly writing my notes and studying "What your kindergartener needs to know".

After doing so much chores and school work today, when it is 8:00, I'm going to relax and watch some TV, which I haven't been doing in the past month, besides the occasional movie with Cayce.

Time for more dishes to be done and dinner for Adalyn.

Prep. Curriculum: Week 20

Balloons, balloons, balloons. That was the theme for the week. She had a hard time trying to pronounce the vocab word, which was helium. It was hilarious hearing her try to say it. I gave her Friday off. She did amazingly well all week and didn't have any meltdowns. Good for her and good on my ears.

Monday:
She colored hot air balloons and everyone that saw it, she would point it out. We read a balloon counting book and it was about birds popping balloons, and I would say "those pesky birds", and she would say "pesty", it was a great laughing moment.

She was proud of those hot air balloons. We listened to The Balloon Song by Mark Willis. I fell in love instantly with the song.

Tuesday:
Here is last week's lesson that I switched up by accident.

Wednesday:

She picked out the green color all by herself. I was going to give her a light green and she told me no, and chose the dark green. Little miss independent!

Thursday:
she did this page all by herself. PROUD MOMMY MOMENT!!!!!

We used little stickers and we had room for more. Made a mental note, not to use big stickers the next few weeks.

Friday:
She had the day off and I focused solely on getting Samantha's school planning done, because Sammy has 1 more month before her Kindergarten prep work I have set aside.

Cayce taught them both how to do push ups last night and they are doing great with that.

NEW Instagrammer Here!!

I have officially jumped on the Instagram bandwagon! I started last Tuesday, and I'm IN LOVE! I joined because I wanted to follow all of my fave celebs and see their pictures that I can't see on Facebook or Twitter.

It was a great decision and now I am happy that Cayce bought the tablet the Sunday before. He didn't say anything negative about it which made me a happy girl. I will definitely be using it when we travel and do fun homeschool things.

Next weekend, I hope to have a date night with Cayce and go to the drive in and see Divergent. I was wanting to go this weekend, but they are not showing it. I am patiently waiting for some teaser trailers or photos to pop up of Mockingjay part1... (that's another reason, to start instagramming)

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I have a lot of things planned for the girls today. I already have them in their green clothing. They look adorable. I'm not gonna put my Addy baby into an green because I wanna pinch her cheeks throughout the day. Yes, it's mean, I know but it's my kid and I'm going to do it anyways.

Prep. Curriculum: Week 19

The theme was boats and it was immediately "papa" week. My dad loves fishing and has 3 boats, and they get to sit in the boats almost everytime we go over there. So, needless to say this week was easy.

Monday:

PURPLE sail boat

Tuesday: I totally messed up lessons. This week was supposed to be a shape, but I did color by mistake. So she did the color Orange and we will do triangle next week.

Wednesday:
I had to calm her down on the top. She went a little crazy on it.

Thursday:

running out of room for stickers

Friday: I didn't have time to take pictures. But we read two books and did her workbook.

Lowe's Workshop: Birdhouse 3/8/14

Last Saturday, Samantha and Ariana built birdhouses in their workshop. They loved it. Cayce has to get some stain and paint and let them decorate them and get them ready for spring.

They have the most fun at these workshops. I can't wait for Addy to start going. The next workshop is next month and it's on the same day as my cousin's wedding. We are going to try to take them and be at the wedding on time.

Hunger Games OBSESSION!!!

OK, I started reading The Hunger Games in January. It took me a few weeks to get through the first book because I was super busy and didn't have time to read. But once I got to the good parts in the first book, holy hell, I flew through it. After I got done reading it, I sent Cayce to Wal-Mart to get me the second book.

The whole time I was reading the book, I felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head and I tried so hard not to get a paper cut.. haha. I finished it in 2 days. Also, when he bought the 2nd book for me, he picked up the first movie. After the book was read and resting from my high speed page turning, the movie was in my DVD player and I was happily on the couch. I wanted to watch it over and over and over again. The only thing that sucks is that it didn't have deleted scenes.

A week before the 2nd movie came out, I sent Cayce back to Wal-Mart to get the 3rd book. I cried reading the parts about Peeta. I'm in love with Peeta's character in the books and movies. Josh Hutcherson was the perfect fit for the role and he made it come to life MORE!

When I got to the epilogue at the end, and it mentioned kids, I LOST IT! I immediately went online and found a website where fans right their own fiction on whatever they like. I found exactly what I was looking for plus some. There were all three books written in Peeta's POV, the wedding, BABIES!!!! I found music videos of clips with love songs and fell in LOVE with one video that plays to the song A Drop In The Ocean and at the end, it has words that made me cry like a baby.

The love story in the hunger games is better than twilight!!! If Peeta was a vampire, then it would TOTALLY BE DIFFERENT!!!!

But, I have to wait 8 months for Mockingjay part 1 to come to theaters, and even then, Peeta won't be in it that much. But, I have a theory that the first movie will end right when they rescue Peeta from the capitol. That's just my guess.

Prep. Curriculum: Week 18

Last week, the theme was ears. It was an easy week for sure and it flew by. She has less than 10 weeks left of this curriculum and she will be off till October. After this, I can focus solely on Sammy's kindergarten year.

Monday:
Early morning school. Still in pajamas!!

Tuesday: The color was PINK! I printed off a worksheet for her to do and she had to circle every pink object that she could find. She did very well on it and I had a happy mommy moment.

Wednesday:
A brown raccoon

Thursday:
She did this page on her own.

Her favorite part of every week.
Friday:
She had a little bit of trouble with this page and it gave me a lot of insight of what we need to work on.

Sunday Family Day

Last Sunday, we had the perfect family day. Cayce and I slept in and the girls played quietly. We played and watched some TV and Cayce went and got us Subway for lunch. After, the girls went down for a nap and I got some stuff done around the house. It was nice that voices weren't raised and hardly any tears and no fights. I love these days that Cayce is off from work.

After nap time, Cayce took all 3 girls outside and banned me from going outside because that was "his" time with the girls. I didn't object. I finished work, got some housework done and got supper started.

We had Chicken Broccoli stir fry for supper. It was delicious and after we gave the girls their baths and put them down for bed. I decided on movie night and we watched The Hunger Games. I fell in LOVE with it. I will post more about my obsession later.

Sometimes, having no plans makes for a great day.

IHOP Trip

On Saturday morning before Cayce had to go to work, he took the girls and I to brunch. It was a great time. The kids ate all their food and I had one of the best sandwiches in my life. He then took us shopping at the dollar tree and we got some much needed necessities for the kids. Now picture time.
