Kindergarten: Week 29

This week, the whole house was sick. I was bed ridden for 2 days and we missed out on school those 2 days. It was awful. But we had a Lowe's workshop today and that made up one of the days.

Monday: We went on a little letter V scavenger hunt at Walmart. It was fun, and we picked out a lot of things. Didn't get any pictures.

Tuesday: I was starting to feel a whole lot worse, and wanted to cancel school, but I trudged on and we made it another day. At the end of the day, I rewarded ourselves with watching Big Hero 6.

she dressed herself in the same shirt she wore yesterday, but I got her to change.

'

Wednesday: No school as I couldn't talk and my head felt like it was going to explode.  I was in my big comfortable bed, but couldn't get any sleep because my nose decided to flow constantly.

Thursday: No school as I still couldn't talk and my body decided it wanted to try to cough up a lung. Got some sleep, but not much.

Friday: I really didn't want her to miss another day of school, so we pulled it together and got through the day slowly but surely. I was completely exhausted and went straight to sleep after.

How the planer looks this week.... I don't like it.

not many pictures as we mainly did workbooks today.

Saturday: They had a Lowe's workshop today and I made it a make up day. Not many pictures. After the workshop they went to the library. When they got back home, Sammy did puzzle and quiet time. The workshop post will be up soon.

Barden Kids Growing Up! Part 2

Well, as you know Samantha and Ariana got their bunk beds and are enjoying it. I have just started to go through clothes that don't fit and started to pass them down. Yes my kids wear hand me downs but seriously they love it. Whenever Sammy is wearing something cute or Adalyn is wearing something that Samantha used to wear as a baby, they fight over it. It's funny. They are already fighting over clothes. I finally have the money to go get some new clothes for them. I shop at Once Upon A Child on Harbison Blvd. in Columbia. I hate the traffic, but the store, I LOVE!!! They have the nicest clothes. I never thought I would get to dress my kids in Apple Bottoms or Roca Wear or Polo.

I planned to get Adalyn's crib converted to the toddle bed and her changing table out of the house completely, but that hasn't happened yet. I hope I can have that done in the next few weeks.

We have been working in our bedroom. Cayce built us a bed frame and head board and it looks so nice. The frame for the bed was built first obviously and we had to wait till the next day to go back to Lowe's to get the wood for the headboard. Now we are slowly working on the kitchen.

Here are my shelves that he put up for me because we had to toss the top of my desk because our new computer didn't fit.

Looks so good.

I love it and he did a great job.

The Defector Review *contains spoiler*

I was beyond ready to read this book after I read The Secret Servant. I kind of figured that the book would take place in Russia or feature Russians because the word defector or defect is mainly associated with Russia. I was very interested in this book, because I had been watching The Americans on FX and it is an amazing show and I just love spy and criminal stuff in general. I would recommend that you read the books in order and not skip around like I did because you will be confused. I will be rereading this book and The Secret Servant once I get the other books.

I don't have anything negative to say about this book, only that I didn't like the part where Chiara had her miscarriage.. and if you haven't read this book, then SORRY!!!

I swear I won't give anymore of the book away, just that Daniel Silva is an amazing writer and I can't wait to read more of his books.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

This is the next book I am reading. I have finished reading The Defector. There were some nights where I could not put it down. I am seriously going to find and read the other books.

Cayce bought me the Percy Jackson book set a couple years ago and I hate to say that I am just now getting around to reading them. I took the plastic off it today.

We have seen the first 2 movies. I will be posting my review of The Defector tomorrow.

Ariana Letter Curriculum: Week 16

This week was the letter N. We didn't start school on Monday this week, because I was so upset with the fact that Samantha bombed her spelling test. I have started to show her letters and words and we are playing more games with daddy while Sammy is doing her school and also on the weekend. She is paying attention to what Samantha does during her school because she can recite our phone number and address.

Tuesday: We started school while Samantha was working on her puzzle. We listened to the nutcracker and some of The Beatles.

We finished the rest of her school later that night after Samantha was done and after they had dinner.

she loves writing with her pencil. Much better than crayons

Wednesday: She had a little game night with daddy.

Thursday: She did some coloring for Chinese New year, and sat in on the read aloud with Samantha.
She also read again when she came back to finish her lessons.

cheesin

ready to read again

she had to send some goodnight kisses.

Friday:  We did double lessons today and actually finished this letter lesson. Happy!!!!
listening to her music

We didn't take that many pictures because we wanted to hurry and get done and go watch a movie to end the night.

End of week 16!!! We are almost threw and we are going to be doing a lot of work during Samantha's spring break.

Kindergarten: Week 28

This week felt like it took forever, maybe it was because I only got one day to get somewhat ready for this week.

Monday: We tried to do a spelling test on her valentine words, but she failed that test miserably, so we are going to be re-doing those words again this week.

Tuesday: We did the usual, but I really wanted to focus on those words because her not getting any of those words right on that test bugged me a little. So, we worked on them first.

decided to take a quick selfie while doing Easy Peasy work.

This is what got us started on listening to The Beatles during Ariana's school time... the hippie van. I love The Beatles and I am going to make sure my kids do too.
I did have a water painting thing planned with Cayce, but the time made us push it back the next day.

Wednesday: Samantha was eager to get to her water painting time with her daddy, but she had to finish her morning work and she wanted to do her puzzle and quiet time first.

she got this little book from my brother. They decided to use their fingers to add to the fun.

writing some words from her Easy Peasy lesson.

Thursday: Happy Chinese New Year. I have always been fascinated with Asian cultures and history and everything. We got some books from the library and I got her a little Chinese New Year packet from Enchanted Homeschooling Mom to color.

She wrote some "V" words from the video we watched.

Friday: We had a normal day. We started a little earlier than normal, so we could finish at an earlier time and start our weekend.

my kid is adorable
