Gift Wrap Date Night

Cayce and I had a gift wrap date night. We didn't do this last year because we were not at all in a celebrating mood, and we should have done it, because it was fun.

We had to choose day that was good for Cayce because his work schedule was crazy busy the week of Christmas. He had a bunch of late nights, and we had put it off until 3 days before Christmas. We were going to do it on my birthday, but he had to stay overtime, and didn't get home until the next morning. So, the night after my birthday is when we had our gift wrap date night. It lasted until early morning, but it had to be done and it was a well deserved relaxing activity for us.

the presents sorted and ready to be wrapped.

goofing off, having fun

I love listening to Duck the Halls by the Robertsons. I listen to it every Christmas

We started around 11PM and we finished around 2:30am. It was tiring but enjoyable, and watching the kids tear open into the presents was worth it.

Cayces' Artwork

Before Cayce had his accident last year, about a week before, he made this beautiful flower clock on a canvas. I loved that he was finally getting back into his artwork, but then all that went down the drain. He gave it to our pastor and he has proudly displayed it in his home.

It is gorgeous! I wanted him to do a skull and roses clock, but that is on hold till I don't know when.

Cayce's Birthday Recap

Friday was Cayce's 25th birthday. Right when it turned midnight, I started screaming HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him. It was a silly moment and we also took some pictures. We are some very photogenic people at night-time.

About 30 minutes later, he headed to Wal-mart to pick up his birthday breakfast. Yes, we go to wal-mart late at night. We don't like the crazies that come out during the day.

Breakfast was delicious. It smelled and tasted awesome!!!
strawberries

with eggs, green onions and smoked sausage.

That night while Cayce was at work, I tried to make his cake. It sucked, but it was delicious.
this is the cake he wanted

I had to separate the batter and color the batter different colors. I HATED THAT. It took to much time, but Cayce loved it.

Here is the end product. While I was frosting it, the batter sections wanted to fall apart. They didn't cook together. I will not be getting another one of these cakes. It was too time consuming and the different colors wanted to separate.

While the cake was baking and the girls were just getting done with their supper, they wanted to make daddy some birthday cards. So cute.

Ariana once again not looking at the camera. This irks me to no end!!!

I wrote this on our white board. I love the little music noted, but I don't think the bottom one is though.

so proud of herself.

When Cayce got home from work, he saw the cards and his reaction was just TOO adorable to miss.

Overall, I guess I can say that he had a great birthday even though he had to work.

Happy Birthday Cayce

My love is 25 today!! We took some pictures around midnight and he went to wal-mart for a little overnight shopping. Yes we do our shopping in the dead of night because we get fed up with people and crowds. I will post more about his birthday this weekend.

Happy 25th my love!!

Drive In Date Night

On Sunday night, Cayce and I went to the Monetta Drive In to watch The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. I have been fangirling since Catching Fire released on DVD. The kids were with my parents. The most annoying part of the whole night, well, pretty much the whole day was the pouring down rain. My parents and Cayce kept asking me if we were still going to go, and if they would shut it down for the night. I said no, they won't shut it down and yes we are still going. We dropped the kids off and we were off on our merry way.

For the first time in my life, we were the first car in line. We got there at 5pm, and we didn't get onto the field until 6:45. The whole time we were waiting, the rains was constantly off and on.

When the movie finally started, it was pouring it's hardest, and we had the wipers going on fast. About 5 minutes into the movie, it slowed down and by the end of the movie, the rain had completely stopped.

The movie was fantastic. I cried on some parts, mostly Peeta's propos and I sang along with the hanging tree because I am that much of a geek. Cayce was constantly reminding me of toastbabies and the reminder was unneccesary.

I am already counting down the days for Mockingjay part 2.

Cayce's Concussion Update 2

So, Cayce has been hurt and out of work for a week now. Yesterday, he went up to the hospital to fill out more paper work for his claims and to get his diagnosis for the company that is going to be held responsible for his injury, and it seemed like he was having a good day because his headaches weren't as severe and his vision wasn't a blurry. So, he tried to go back to the store this morning, and he ended up fainting. His supervisor Darryl from his other job had to pick him up and bring him home. It was scary hearing what happened. His last concussion didn't last this long, and I am wondering if something deeper is seriously damaged that they can't see on any CAT scans.

He just left to go back to the hospital. I know it will be another long night, just hope we can get some more answers. I will update again, with what happens and what the docs say.

Cayce's Concussion Update

Cayce ended up with a concussion just like I guessed it. He ended up getting home around 5am yesterday morning. He is out of work until next week. He is so out of it and he has to rest and that's going to be a hard thing to do because he is constantly moving. One example, he took Samantha to the park today and she got hurt. She fell off a pole she was climbing and bruised the middle of her back.

The medicine that they gave him is supposed to help with his nausea and I swear it is making him even more sick. His vision is still blurry and he says that it feels like some one is heating him in the head with a sledgehammer repeatedly.

Today has definitely been a long day. I am going to bed like NOW!

Cayce's Concussion

Since I'm writing this in the early morning hours and haven't gone to sleep yet because I can't without Cayce, I'll just get this post out the way. Yesterday (Tuesday), Cayce was at work at the store. Tuesday is a truck day for the store, so he was unloading with a co-worker. Around 11:15,  he got hit in the head by a block of dry ice that fell from on top of the box he was grabbing. He and his co worker didn't see it. It got him good and made his ear all bloody and his bosses sent him to the medical center here in Swansea to see if he damaged his ear drum.

He got the all clear from the doctor about his ear drum and he went to fill his prescription. On his way back home, he called to tell me that he was having trouble seeing while he was driving. I know he is a freaking moron to call while driving and while he can't see. He got home safely, and I made him some lunch and gave him some ibuprofen and put the ointment in his ear. While that was happening, he started getting a really bad headache and he called our pastor to get him to take him to the hospital.

They were gone for about an hour till Cayce called me and his speech was slurring so bad that pastor had to take the phone away from him to tell me to look for his medical records from when he was in his accident in '97. When they got here, Cayce took one look at me and started crying, and wanting a hug. He is never like this and it broke my heart. The last time he had vision and speech problems and was crying, he had a concussion and that was back in 2009.

So I am guessing they got to the hospital around 6pm, and he called me at 12:20am, and hour and 10 minutes ago, to tell me that they finally called him to the back to be seen by the doctor. I just got a text 10 minutes ago from our pastor, that they were wheeling him to get a CAT scan done.

I am super tired and I will update later when Cayce is back on his feet.

Cayce Health Update

Cayce didn't have to have blood drawn on Sunday, instead he got an x-ray. Nothing is torn or out of place, just strained tendons and muscles. He had a lot of fluid around his knee, and he has been recommended to an orthopedic doctor. He has an appointment at the end of the month, and he is wearing his knee and ankle braces like there is no tomorrow. He can't walk without them and we are not out of the woods yet.

He relaxed all 4 days off from work and he was hesitant to go back on Monday, and last night, he was in more pain than ever. I am going to demand a trip to Healing Springs soon, probably this weekend. We also still need to do Samantha's kindergarten photo shoot. Last weekend was just all around sucky because it rained CONSTANTLY!

I will keep updating on his knee as soon as I can.

Cayce Health Scare

Cayce has been going to the chiropractor for the past couple months for his back and legs. His knees are so out of shape, that if he steps the wrong way, they start popping. When we got together 7 years ago, he would pop every joint in his body and it is the most disgusting thing ever. Now his ankles are starting to give him trouble. He is wearing two knee braces and ankle braces and they are not helping anymore.

Yesterday, Cayce had another appointment and the chiropractor has put him out of work till Monday from both jobs and wants blood work done to see if Cayce is getting Early Onset Arthritis. It is a scary thing to imagine a possibility. He is only 24 and he will have to deal with it for the rest of his life.

He is going on Sunday to have it done hopefully. Tomorrow we are going to have a family day and do a little photo shoot with Sammy before we start school on Monday. She is excited to be starting Kindergarten. I'm excited and can't wait. I will post an update on Cayce's condition once we get everything situated.

Columbia Blowfish vs. Forest City Owls

Last night, Cayce and I had a date night. The girls got two tickets to a Blowfish game for their summer reading. Cayce and I took advantage of going this year, just him and I so we didn't have to buy 3 more tickets. It also gave my mom more time to spend time with the kids before she has to go back to work next week. She is a school lunch lady, so she starts back to work a week before the kids start going back. It was an amazing time. We had subway before the game and when we got to the stadium, we sat on the third base line this time and close to the visitor's dugout. It was way better this time being off daughter duty, so I got to ogle the players. I instagramed a lot, and now there are a bunch of butts on my account. Cayce was also being photographer/videographer. I will post the videos later. These pictures are a little out of order.

We just dropped the kids off at my parents.

subway before getting to The Cap! (Capital City Stadium)

I watched this player the whole game. He was definitely a cutie and had a nice butt!!

Cayce's Wreck 10-21-13

After a week, I can finally talk about Cayce's wreck without getting upset and angry. It happened around noon last Monday when he was on the way home from work at the grocery store. He was coming home for lunch and to get ready to go back to work at Accurate. Needless to say, he didn't eat lunch that day.

The road my parents live on has a bridge at the end of it where it forms into Savannah HWY. Right after you go under the bridge, there is a plant entrance to a chemical plant. When Cayce was on the way home, there was a pickup truck in front of him and in front of the pick up, there was a chemical tanker pulling into the entrance, and the pickup slammed on brakes to keep from hitting the tanker, and Cayce slammed on his brakes, and they didn't work, and slammed into the pickup.

It has been the most miserable 8 days of our lives and it has been stressful. I'm just glad that it wasn't worse than it turned out to be, the pickup truck could have rear ended the tanker and Cayce could have rear ended both of them and possibly a big BOOM! and possibly life threatening.

We have a new car now, and I'm scared every time Cayce drives it. It's going to be a while for me to not be worried every time he drives.

Cayce's 2nd Job

This is the 3rd time that Cayce has went back to this job. It's the only grocery store in Swansea. He started working there in August of 2008, 2 months after we moved in together and we just found out that we were pregnant with Samantha. He had to drop out of school to be able to get that job, so he did, and helped me finish school. He quit when Samantha was 2 months old, and started working at Accurate, which was way better and got more money.

The 2nd time we went back, we were looking at a house to buy and we had to get our credit up and so he went back to the grocery store to pay our bills, and to help with Ariana's formula and diapers. He only stayed 2-3 months, before he started getting tired.

This time, we are somewhat struggling. He wants to save this money for when we have emergencies like last Friday with the well, and we had to take what we were saving for our light bill and go get the parts to fix the well. I'm very thankful for him and even though the girls and I miss him, I know that he is doing it so I'm able to stay home with the kids and homeschool them.

He has tomorrow morning off from the store, but still has to go to work tomorrow night, so we will have some much needed family time in the morning. Next Thursday for Ariana's birthday, he told me last night that he has that day off completely, so we will DEFINITELY be taking advantage of that.

Tuesday's Date Night

On Sunday, Cayce and I decided to have a date night on Tuesday when he would get home from work. I didn't know I was going to get sick as a dog. I didn't get much done on Monday, and I thought we would have to cancel our date. Tuesday, I was feeling better until it got around time for Cayce to get home. I took a shot of Nyquil and I totally forgot that we were going to have some champagne with our dinner. I made Mexican chicken and rice. It was delicious.

When Cayce got home, I was trying to relax and he got the girls dressed and ready for bed. We watched Warm Bodies and had ice cream for dessert. Right after the movie, we went straight to bed. It wasn't an actual date, but it was good quality time together for Cayce and I.

Cayce's TABE Test Day

When Cayce and I met, I was a junior in high school and he was a sophomore. We moved in together the summer before our new grades. I got pregnant with Samantha the month before the start of my senior year. He ended up dropping out of school to support me and the baby. He helped me with school and he got a job at the local grocery store. It wasn't much, but we managed. We went days with little food and I got 2 lunches at school. We have been talking about when he would go back to school. While we were in the process of buying this house, he was going back for GED classes. He didn't complete because we had Sammy and Airy to move in and settle and get ready for Addy to make her big appearance.

A year after moving in and being settled, he finally has the time to go back. Today, he went to go register for classes and take his test to see where he needs improvement. He's got 8 weeks to learn and take his test, and hopefully he can graduate this summer.

I know this will lift alot of weight off of his shoulders and be happy that he has this accomplishment under his belt.
