School Week 36 Recap

This week was all Reading Eggs. 2 more weeks left of school, and I am getting anxious. I am planning next week to do a whole lot of Easy Peasy Lessons and workbook pages. We started swimming lessons this week too.

Monday: We had a late start to the day. Morning work and quiet time was the beginning. Samantha started playing a game on our old Playstation 2. It is the 7 Wonders of the World game. While she was doing that, Ariana was working on her Reading Eggs. She also worked on a Mathseeds lesson.
She loves doing this

Sub Station 2 Review

Growing up, Sub Station 2 was the shit. It was one of the main restaurants in my hometown along with the old timey Hilltop Cafe. A few years ago, my town's sub station 2 closed because it was losing money thanks to the losers that were giving away free food to their friends. I was devastated because I would always get turkey clubs and they ALWAYS made the best cold cuts with a lot of oil and vinegar and salt and pepper. The local Subway has been a suitable disappointment. But, I was told that the next town over, there is a Sub Station 2 where another one of my favorite restaurants used to be. I sent Cayce to get me a turkey club only to find out that they don't make turkey clubs..... WHAT??????????

I got my hopes up, but the kind employees made me a sandwich with all of the fixings that go on a turkey club, not the same, but fucking DELICIOUS! I went back two days later to do this post because I wanted to review them.

The slogan is very misleading... you would think more means specialty and specialty is turkey clubs since it isn't on the menu, but whatever. I love the sandwiches. They are delicious, BUT, the prices are absolutely crazy. The first sandwich I got was a 6 inch and I paid close to 7 dollars. It had bacon on it and they charged me a 1.69 for two slices....WTF! The second time, I got a footlong. I got the same fixings on it. It was over 12 dollars. They didn't charge me for bacon this time.
So this half of my sandwich was 6 dollars.

I am going to be going to another sub station a little farther away to see if they make turkey clubs, and if they don't, then I will be coming here for a splurge dinner. 12 dollars for just a sandwich is ridiculous! #deliciouslyexpensive

Burnt Offerings *Trigger Warning*

*TRIGGER WARNING*
DONT READ THIS BOOK IF you are bothered by rape situations. This book contains a lot of rape talk and it is uncomfortable. Stay away from this book and this review.

I have learned my lesson that I need to write reviews before I go on to reading the next book. Book 7 if the Anita Blake series was not my most favorite. It was great and action packed, but her relationship with Jean-Claude was gag worthy.

We meet the infamous vampire council in this novel. It starts off with Anita talking about her new sexual relationship with Jean-Claude...blah. She is first called in on a case where an arsonist has set a vampire on fire in a little place called Burnt Offerings. The woman who set the vamp on fire claims self defense but she was lying and had help from the owner

Since Anita killed Gabriel in the last novel, she has now become the leader of the wereleopards, and has to protect them, which she has no idea how to do. Sadly, there is not a whole lot of Richard in this story, as he is out of town studying for his master's degree and interviewing new lupas, since he and Anita broke up. Anite is still Lupa.

The vampire council is the most action packed and angsty part in this whole novel. Since Anita killed Mr. Oliver a few books ago, the council has come to St. Louis to get Jean-Claude to take his place. Jean-Claude doesn't want any part of the council, and we actually find out that, if the vampire council is close, the newborn vampires go freaking crazy hungry. The master of Beasts and Fernando is the sickest of them all and actually pissed me off. They are rapist. There is alot of talk of rape in this novel, so if that bothers you, DON'T READ!!!!!

The end is when Richard and Anita defeat the council and sends them on their merry way to whatever hole they crawled out of.
