First Date Outfit: Horse Riding

I put this outfit together after talking to my friend who owns horses. We tell each other everything and he inspired a lot of things for my stories that I want to make books one day. One question I asked him was what his idea of a perfect first date should be. He painted a gorgeous picture of a horseback ride to a secluded lake where a picnic lunch would be waiting. I asked him what the guy should wear and he told me what he would wear. I pictured him as my main male character in this particular story and I envisioned my female character as wearing this outfit.

Review: Initiate by Laura L. Fox

I think it was a month or so ago, I signed up to be a reviewer for a book that OfTomes Publishing was releasing. It is called Initiate by Laura L. Fox. It is a YA sci-fi, not quite but close dystopian novel.

This book was an edge of your seat thriller.... I loved it. I am not a huge science fiction reader and most of the ones I do pick up, get put down because they don't pique my interest, but damn this one got me. I loved how it was set underneath Antarctica, and that it was a post apocalypse time frame, and aliens. By the way, I TOTALLY ship Rhys and Riga!!!

I do have a lot of questions that I am hoping will be answered in the second book, and is her dad still alive? Are they going to encounter any bears or see more whales.

Review: Hit List by Laurell K. Hamilton

I know I have bee saying this for the past few reviews for this series, but this one is now my #1 favorite. I like all the ones with Edward in them basically. It wasn't all about the sex and it was all about her day job as vampire executioner.

We get to learn more the Harlequin and how the Mother of All Darkness is supposedly dead. Yea right!! I am really sick of the Harlequin and their rules, but I like how they are split. Some are still following Mommie Dearest orders and the rest are protecting the gold tigers that are in hiding.

The story starts off with Anita and Edward on a manhunt for a serial killer that is killing clanless were tigers. They have already figured out that the Harlequin are the killers. Anita once again has to prove to the marshals that she is working with her, that she can hold her own and that she is loyal. She keeps having to prove herself to everyone and it is getting kind of annoying that she has to do it and the higher up that doubts her and gets frustrated and angry is getting really old in these stories.

I think that's what I like about the books with Edward in them because it's never the same. They have that friendship, but you will never know if the author just had a mind fuck and decided hey, let's finally decide who is better... Anita or Edward. I am also hoping that she will finally put Edward and Anita together because Anita has no other option. Edward is willing if need be and there is no one else Anita is comfortable with, but it never happens.

The one thing that really got me and made me terrified and wanting to rush to read more was Olaf's new storyline. OMG.....WTF!! As if he wasn't a dangerous motherfucker to begin with, he had to go and become a were lion. The next fucked up thing that Laurell K. Hamilton can do next is make Olaf's lion the Rex that Anita's Regina is looking for.... good Lord!

Just go read this.. it's amazing and not filled with the same sex acts from the previous novels. I always think I can't wait for this series to be done.. when it's sex after sex after sex.. but then she throws Edward and actual police work with minimal sex and I want more. I actually want to read more about her zombie raising job... the roots man!!!

School Week 6 Photo Diary

This is a day late because yesterday was just a crazy day. I still haven't gotten myself on a good sleep schedule and I moved the start time from 10:00 to 11:00 to see if that would help and it didn't. I am also getting more headaches and not having a good appetite and losing weight. I am stressed to the max, but this week was a good productive one.

Monday: They both worked on Reading Eggs and had separate quiet time. We also did more language arts work with Skippyjon Jones. They love that book and they love the accents I make go with the words.

Tuesday: A good chunk of today was spent on workbooks and Easy Peasy. We started reading another chapter book called The Littles. I don't know if I ever read that book when I was younger, but it was enjoyable.

Wednesday: We started the day off with doing something that we should have done a couple weeks ago. They finally built their tunnel of darkness that they wanted to build from Sid the Science Kid. We finished reading The Littles and it was so good.

We also started a new history lesson today. They are now learning about the seven wonders of the world. We spent most of the day watching youtube videos on the seven wonders

Thursday: Since today was the first day of Autumn, they got to start with some Fall worksheets. Samantha did some Harvest Moon copywork pages. After that Samantha worked on her adult coloring book and she finished her second page. While she was doing that, Ariana was working on more Reading Eggs and she took another one of her quizzes and got a 100.

We finished up our little section on the pyramids of Giza by making their own. They finished the day with watching a video on the hanging gardens and drawing their own.

Friday: We watched more videos on the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and learned how they watered the pants. After that, we moved on the that statue of Zeus and they built their own little statues from playdough.

These were the only pictures I took today because it was a late night for Cayce and I, and we watched more videos on the Statue of Zeus. We did end the day with reading another chapter book of a series we started last week. It was Kitty the Tiger Fairy.

I am thinking next week, that I am not going to do a quiet time at all and get the girls to use that time to read aloud to me, and see how that works. 

The Planner Addict Tag

I have been wanting to do this tag for a while and figured it would be a good comeback post after a couple of days from the blogging world. I am having a hard time with time management and I have pushed this blog to the back burner until I can get our lives back on track. Cayce's new job is the reason for all our time issues at the moment. I haven't actually had time to plan my week in my planner for a while now, and it's kind of stressing.

9.) What is your planning routine? Sometimes, I plan my weeks out, or I usually do a plan as I go throughout the week. I don't really have a routine.
10.) If you had to pick only ONE planner, which one would you use and why? I would choose the MAMBI Happy Planner because I feel like you can do so much more with it than the Erin Condren.
11.) *BONUS QUESTION* Show us your washi tape stash. Is it out of control?

My washi stash is not too out of control, but everytime I do go into the Dollar Tree, I search for washi and if I see some I like, I will get it. Cayce always gets some washi too if he is out an about.

I am really happy with this week's haulage. I am hoping that I don't get as much magazines next week and I probably wont. I have been getting a lot of digital freebies this week as well. And those have been making up the lack of physical freebies from the past weeks. 

School Week 5 Photo Diary

I can't believe that we are already through our 5th week of the school year. We have been doing school for a month yesterday and it is going by so quickly. The girls are loving it. They are telling me stuff that they want to learn about, and I will choose one day from the week to focus on that topic the whole day, if it doesn't fit that weeks lessons I have planned or if we have those lessons later on in the year. They want to learn about crocodiles and alligators, so we will be doing that on Monday next week.

Monday: We started the day off with watching a movie..... I know, I know. I went against my own rules, but the girls were still on that science high that we did last week and they wanted to look at other scientific stuff. I had them draw pictures after the movie and they want to make their own memory scanners and time machines... I say go ahead darlings.

The rest of the day was spent more on science. It turned into a full on science day. They watched Sid the Science Kid and learned more about science tools and observation.

Tuesday: Today was a language arts day and we spent the majority of it on the Three Billy Goats Gruff.

 After we read and discussed and watched some YouTube videos, I printed them out some play-doh mats around the three billy goats gruff and they had so much fun creating the needed objects.

To finish the day, they did quiet time and reading eggs. They are doing so great with their reading eggs and then Samantha read aloud from Mr Brown Can Moo by herself while Ariana worked on Long vowel word searches and she did amazing.

Wednesday: Day off to celebrate mine and Cayce's 9 year anniversary and now I am regretting that decision because with his new job, he couldn't take the day off and I was home doing nothing, so that was a day wasted.

Thursday: Today was a big computer and life skills day. They spent a good hour and a half at the start cleaning their rooms, putting away clothes and getting their selves ready for the day. I make them get dressed and make sure they brush hair and teeth. My kids are not going to be looking like slobs.

 They did Easy Peasy and they listened to Story time Online from the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. They listened to A Bad Case of Stripes, Stellaluna, and Guji Guji. We also ended the day with starting a new book called Mae the Panda Fairy.

Friday: Today was a late start, and not many pictures. They had their first cooking lesson of this school year. They helped cook their breakfast this morning, which was apple pie oatmeal. They did amazing and they also learned more kitchen rules.

The rest of the day, we all did quiet time together, and they did a lot of workbook pages and we finished reading Mae the Panda Fairy and they finished the day off with watching the movie Pan. It was a good one.

I am so looking forward to next week. This week was a good one. I have that feeling of wanting to make up Wednesday, even though I scheduled it as a day off when I counted my 180 days.
