Coloring Book Update 3

Time for another coloring book update. I thought and planned on getting a lot done during the summer and was planning to have this post up TWO weeks ago, but kept having to postpone it because I didn't want to post what I am about to post.

Cayce and I have not gotten our challenge pages done. We have them started, but we just have other stuff needing our attention and the coloring has been pushed to the side.

So I am going to be showing you all our progress so far.

Cayce:

Me:

Whoever gets done with their page first wins the challenge. I am hoping that we will have these pages done and one or two more done before my next update, but I am not sure.

Coloring Book Update #2

It's time for another update on mine and Cayce's adult coloring book. We haven't done much coloring since the last update, but we did color on Sunday and Monday, because I am ready to do our challenge pages. I think that once we finish the school year, that we will have more time to do some pages.

Cayce:

Me:

This next picture is of the full page spread. Cayce started on his side first and I followed and decided to follow the colors he was using to even it out.

The next pages we will be doing is called our challenge pages. We both have to complete completed ones with small images and the first one done wins.

Coloring Book Update #1

Last month for Christmas, Cayce surprised me with an adult coloring book. I have been wanting one for us to do together since the summer and he got one from work. I decided at the beginning of the month that I would post the finished pages. We are working on a full page spread now and then we have a page for each of us that we are calling our challenge page. It's going to be whoever finishes their page first wins. It's going to be so fun.

So, we each have one page finished already.

Cayce:
He finished this on December 16th.

Me:
I finished this on January 10th.

I would post the pictures of how our shared spread is, but Cayce wants me to share it finished.

I will be updating just like my reading list, which is every 3 months, so you can expect another post in April and we hope to have our spread complete, along with out challenge pages and probably our next single pages started.

I want a vote on which one you like more, leave a comment. No offense will be taken, it's just for fun and maybe some bragging here or there...lol.

Gift Wrap Date Night

Cayce and I had a gift wrap date night. We didn't do this last year because we were not at all in a celebrating mood, and we should have done it, because it was fun.

We had to choose day that was good for Cayce because his work schedule was crazy busy the week of Christmas. He had a bunch of late nights, and we had put it off until 3 days before Christmas. We were going to do it on my birthday, but he had to stay overtime, and didn't get home until the next morning. So, the night after my birthday is when we had our gift wrap date night. It lasted until early morning, but it had to be done and it was a well deserved relaxing activity for us.

goofing off, having fun

I love listening to Duck the Halls by the Robertsons. I listen to it every Christmas

We started around 11PM and we finished around 2:30am. It was tiring but enjoyable, and watching the kids tear open into the presents was worth it.

Jack o Latern Time

On Sunday, we made our Jack-o-latern. Cayce got the biggest pumpkin he could find at wal-mart sometime last week, and it was kind of fun to see him struggle to cut it and pull out all the guts and seeds. Samantha called the guts brains. This year, we made our pumpkin look like Mike Wizowski off of Monsters Inc. It looks awesome, and I kept saying Mikee Wizowwskii.. hehe.

Yes, the dude carved the pumpkin in our living room and yes I had to clean up the mess. Made me want to carve him.

Homemade Paint

I found a great recipe for homemade paint finally. It has only 3 ingredients and it's super easy. Samantha and Ariana loved the paint and they have some good painting skills.

The first color I did. I will have to redo because it's a little watery.

First time using my labeler.

all the colors I made

Showing Samantha and Ariana what to do.

Having fun.

Paint a Bank!!

Last month on a trip to the Dollar Tree, Samantha saw these little piggy banks that could be painted. They had their dollars to spend, and so that's what they chose. It being a busy month, they finally got around to doing them tonight. Cayce just got home from work, and he sat them down at the table and helped them paint.

Samantha had a little train and Ariana got a pig. They are so cute. I was in the room awaiting pictures because I wasn't aloud to watch because it was "daddy" time. I wasn't going to argue because they miss Cayce while he is working.

Picture time:

Intense concentration!

They had a blast painting and I also made them some homemade paint that I will post later. They love doing crafts and I hope one day that there skills will develop better.

Super Bowl 2014

I love watching any type of sporting event. The super bowl, is a close second to baseball. I'm always excited to watch the commercials and to pull for a certain team that I don't pull for during regular season. This year, I was pulling for the Broncos. When we got home from the zoo, I was exhausted. I missed kickoff and the first few commercials.

When the game started and Seattle scored right off the bat, I was not a happy camper, and Cayce didn't watch it with me.

Needless to say, this year's super bowl SUCKED!!! The commercials weren't that great. I'm hoping that next years game is BETTER!

Gingerbread House

Cayce bought two gingerbread kits two weeks before Christmas and we meant to build them on Christmas Eve, but we just didn't have the time. We finally got the house made and the kids LOVED decorating. They were excited about every piece, every squirt of the icing. The little designs Cayce did. It was an amazing time.

putting the pieces together, and waiting for the icing to dry.

Cayce and I are going to do the train together and make it a date night. I have a feeling that it will be fun.
