Happy Birthday Cayce

Yesterday was Cayce's 23rd birthday. We didn't do anything special. Cayce had Budd over on Saturday and celebrated a little bit that way. We didn't have nothing special for breakfast, just leftovers. We watched TV before Cayce had to leave for work. I did make him a special dinner. I made a slow cooked pork butt with taco seasoning. It was DELICIOUS. It sucked that he had to work on his birthday, but we will be going out this weekend.

I made him a french vanilla cake with cinnamon roll icing. One of his co workers who bakes cakes on the side, made him one with pecans. Her cakes and icing are always so moist and yummy.

We have been dating since he was 17 and I was 16. 6 years of dating and I can't wait to celebrate more birthdays with him.
I love you baby.

Memorial Day Celebrations

Yesterday was a great day. Cayce didn't have to work, so it was a 3 day weekend. We had a lazy weekend, and it carried on into yesterday. We let the girls stay in their nightgowns all day. They played games and watched tv. I was going to give Sammy the day off from school , but ended up doing it anyways, since she will have all next week off. We did Memorial Day crafts along with school. During their naps, Cayce and I sat outside and I got a little tan on my back. I need to work on my tan before the lake on the 15th.

We didn't have anything special for breakfast or lunch, but we did have BBQ chicken, fried squash, and whole wheat macaroni and cheese.

Menu: May 26-June 1

Here is this week's menu. We did some tweaking to the menu on Friday and ended up putting it for this week.

Sunday: Leftover BBQ pulled pork with rice
Monday: BBQ Chicken
Tuesday: Hamburger Helper
Wednesday: Cayce's Choice (BIRTHDAY)
Thursday: Leftovers
Friday: Tilapia & Shrimp
Saturday: Sausage Lasagna

I tried something new tonight with our vegetables. I boiled some corn off the cob and let it cook. I drained it and took a half a can of Campbell's Broccoli Cheese soup and mized it in with the corn and it was DELICIOUS. Cayce gave it two thumbs and two toes up..lol.

Letter Curriculum: Week 5

This week, we did the letter D. She kept calling it a B and I knew that we would have that problem because I got my letters mixed up as a child and Cayce did as well. But, at the end of the week, she pronounced it correctly.

On Monday, We listened to a new composer and music. Our internet was acting up all day and our music player kept stopping constantly and everytime it stopped, Sammy got so upset and kept telling the computer that she needed to do her school to get smart. I love my child. She is so funny.

These pictures were taken on Tuesday. The top photom she is doing her workbook page and the bottom photo is the numbered days that we were on.
On Wednesday, she did a craft lion for her bible study. We read about Daniel and the Lion.
She did great and it is beautiful.
It seems like alot of work for a 4 year old but she is comprehending all of it. She is learning and is able to answer any question I give her. She learned about distance with a ruler and when I ask her about a dozen, she points to an egg carton. When I taught her the social studies lesson, I decided to do a comparison with her. Dentists Vs. Doctors. I told her that dentists work on teeth and doctors work on arms, eyes, ears, boobies(long story on this one) and legs and feet. She understood it and we laughed. She remembers things if we laugh and make jokes about it.

On Friday, when Cayce got home, he taught Samantha and Ariana how to dribble a ball. They don't do that well at it, but they are catching on quick and have been trying to do it all weekend.

I'm thinking about giving her tomorrow off from school and do Memorial day stuff with her, or do school along with Memorial day stuff.

Weekly Menu

Very late posting my menu for the week, but it's going up.
I'm going to add what we had tonight (Sunday) for supper, so I feel like I completed it and didn't half ass it. I hate leaving things undone. It makes me feel very unorganized. But, it is my blog, an I can do whatever, so here we go.

Sunday: Porkchops & homemade mashed potatoes
Monday: Shrimp Salad
Tuesday: Rotini with cabbage and spam
Wednesday: Chicken Broccoli Rice Casserole
Thursday: leftovers
Friday: Cayce's BBQ chicken
Saturday: Slow cooker pulled pork (Cayce's bday party)

Planning my family's weekly menu's is taking alot of stress and weight off my shoulders because I don't have to rush. I hate that I stopped doing it the first time because of our move into our final home and Adalyn's birth, but I'm going to make it final and keep it going no matter what. It gives me a happy moment because I know that I will have food on the table for my babies and they will be fed and won't be hungry. Now to get the rest of our lives organized will be the hard part. We have to get school organized and our social events going.

Letter Curriculum: Week 4

This week was about the letter C. She did great and the sign language is coming along. She can do A, B, and C together and it is amazing. She has done 21 days of school so far and can't wait to get to 100th day for her big 100 day of school party.

She loves sitting at the computer and listening to the music

I'm in love with this workbook and definately will use it with Ariana and Adalyn.
This was Tuesday's page in the workbook. We had some issues at first because she didn't understand, but she caught on.

Coloring her Creation book for our bible story. The story for this week was the Creation.
She was doing her math lesson in this picture. She was classifying the objects by color and then by number.

She was doing it all by herself. No help. I'm so proud.

Playing catch with daddy.
Her math lessons were classifying and counting to 31 with a calendar. Her science lessons included learning about a crab and a cardinal. She needs help pronouncing the word cardinal. For her social studies we learned about castles. I didn't take any pictures of her doing these lessons, but it was fun doing it with her than documenting it.

Letter To My 16 Year Old Self

I often think about what I would do differently with my life. It usually happens when i'm having bad days or days when Cayce and I just don't get along. I always tell myself that I will soon wake up from this drean, and it hasn't happend. So, I want to list some key points.

If I am able to go back to my 16 year old self, I would tell myself that the guy who knocked you on your butt the year before and was dating your best friend at the time, will be the love of your life and you will have children with him. I would tell myself to take the relationship slower and wait for the intimate stuff, and focus more on school. I would stay home and not move in with Cayce. We would graduate high school, and I would go to Newberry College. After college, we could get on our feet and build a house on the land we live on now, and work on starting our family. I would tell myself that I HAVE to work out and exercise everyday, and begin a healthy life together and have the job that I want. I would still decide to homeschool my children.

I'm doing the best I can with what we have but I'm always wishing that our lives would be better.

NEW Weight Loss Goals

I redid my weight loss goals for myself when I fell off the wagon that week. Since writing these down, I feel motivated to get this done and become healthy for not just me,but for my girls. So, here they are

  1. Focus on eating healthy and the right portion sizes
  2. Schedule exercise time before Cayce heads to work or school
  3. Drink more water
  4. Keep up the menu planning
  5. Start doing my food journal again
  6. Cut back to weighing self once a week.
The menu planning is not just helping with my weight loss, it is also helping us not waste food.

I will lose this weight and get down to 200 by my birthday. Thats 58 pounds to lose in 7 months.

I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!

My Mother's Day Celebrations

My day started off early. Cayce got the girls up and changed. He washed a load of dishes, and made breakfast. He made chocolate chip waffles with pumpkin cheesecake filling. We always put that on our waffles and he cut up some fresh strawberries... YUMMY.

It wes delicious, and I wish I had some right now. After we got through eating breakfast, I took pictures of me with my precious babies.
I love my Adalyn.

My little smart butt. Our 5th mother's day

My lil mini me.

I will never get enough of her brown eyes. Just like her daddy, got me crazy.
She is just the cutest thing. I think you can tell that she is my favorite. Yea, I know i'm not supposed to pick favorites, but she is my special baby.

After our pictures, we went to my parents's house and spent some time with my mom. I gave her a topaz pendant necklace and she got one of the sweetheart picture frames. We took some leftovers to them.

When we got back home, Cayce went stright to getting supper ready. He cooked steak, steamed potatoes and green beans, leftover cornbread, spanish rice, and homemade whole wheat mac and cheese. It was so good, that after I got through eating what I could, I took an 1.5 hour nap before my Sunday shows came on. Overall, this mother's day was a great one.
Don't it look DELICIOUS!!!!!!

Enjoying their supper. Instead of steak, they got hotdogs.

Lowe's Field Trip

On Saturday, Cayce took Samantha and Ariana to the Lowe's build and grow clinics that they dor for the public. I have been seeing it everywhere online, so I decided to do some research and get all the info. It showed what the girls would be constructing and I thought it would be great. It turned out to be a wonderful idea and we are going to start going to every one they have from now on.

This build and grow clinic was building for mother's day. They got to build two heart picture frames. Samantha gave me hers and we decided to give Airy's to granny (my mom). I stayed home with Adalyn because she isn't old enough to participate.

So Cayce took them for a field trip or daddy-daughter bonding time.
They had so much fun.

look at my baby. so cute

I love it

Every moment they get with him is precious. I love this pic of them together. Addy will be able to join soon.

WAY TO GO ARIANA

Banging away. You go Samantha

Look at them styling with those goggles. So professional looking.
Now here are some after pictures.
Samantha's certificate.

Ariana's certificate. I can't wait to put these in frames and hang them up.

Samantha's apron.

The picture frames. They are gorgeous

These are their patches to go onto their aprons. We have to wait for the next clinic to get Ariana an apron because Cayce didn't know that he had to ask for one. And when he did, they only had one left, so Samantha got that one.

I can't wait for the next clinic. There are going to be three clinics next month. June is going to be a busy one for the girls.

Taking a week off from exercise and dieting and re-evaluating my thoughts really helped. I didn't gain but losing 1 pound is still good.

Cayce and I screamed at the top of our lungs this morning "BYE BYE 260. WE WILL NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN" I will never be at the number again in my life.

Letter Curriculum: Week 3

This week went by quicker than last, probably because I had a routine down and didn't take as much time to get everything set up. Every day we made the lesson last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. She did great this week.
She had more theme words this week. The composer for this week was Beethoven. She does really good with classical music. It has me thinking that I should get her started on piano or musical instrument lessons.
Holding her Beethoven flashcard. She learned about blue birds, buttercups, and bakeries for her science and social studies lessons. For math, I told her a number and she had to tell me the number that came before that one. We read the story The Tower Of Babel, and she colored a picture of a tower and built a tower from jenga blocks on Friday morning.

I got this workbook from Walmart and I'm in love with it. I have her do a page everyday on the letter for the week. I have another workbook for her to work in on the review weeks and the other also has math lessons in it.
This board is my lifesaver. I wish I had this when we were doing the prep curriculum. Everyday, this board is filled and when all the words are gone, Sammy knows that the school day is over. We had a field trip today and that will be another blog post.
