I hope that everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving. May you be grateful for all the things you have, family and love. Also, eat until your stuffed and don't let anyone give you crap about enjoying and being thankful for the food. Enjoy you Turkeys, Churkeys (chicken) or Hams and all the fixins'.

Cayce's 27th Birthday/ Memorial Day Recap
This post is hella late, but better late than never. Cayce's birthday was last Monday and it was also Memorial Day. My honey is 27. He's getting closer to 50 and he is starting to hate this joke. We just had a quiet day at home. He got the day off work since it was a national holiday, so he got paid for chilling and sleeping.
When we woke up, I gave him his bag of gifts. It was a bunch of things I got from Hollar.com and some freebies he can use.
He wanted another simple cake this year, so I made him a vanilla cake with whipped cream cheese frosting with silver crystals on top.
It was a good day. We knew we didn't want to go out because everywhere would be closed and all the public places and lakes and the river would be jammed packed. We got a lot of stuff done around the house and Cayce also started planning a new entertainment center for our living room. As of today when I am posting this (June 10) it is pretty much built and just needs to be painted.

this cake was delicious
our little Memorial day/ Birthday meal was small and light. I made Cayce's favorite Green Bean casserole and mashed potatoes and gravy with an applewood smoked Tenderloin. This was Cayce's plate and he was already munching on his tenderloin.

Christmas 2016
The girls had an amazing Christmas this year and it was the best one yet for them. We had been building our excitement all month doing the advent calendars and doing our countdown to my birthday and then to Christmas. I have a lot of pictures, but I am only going to share the good ones.
The girls got so much love from Cayce's work family. My mom and dad spoiled them rotten and they got some much needed time a week earlier from my grandma and Cayce's grandparents! My mom spoiled Cayce and I with new pots and pans from the Pioneer Woman collection and it matches our new kitchen back splash perfectly.
We were able to help out a couple who is in a similar situation that Cayce and I were in right when we moved in together. We helped them out with food and a few Christmas decor pieces and some kitchen needs and dog food. It was a very good Christmas, and I am happy that it is over. So ready for the new year.

Christmas Decor 2016
It's 10 more days until Christmas.....WOOOHOOO!!!! I have been super busy this week, just focusing on school because we are only having two days of school next week. I have been trying to cram as much as I could in before next week because I am planning on a bunch of Christmas-y stuff for Tuesday.
I am going to be sharing our Christmas decor that we have up this year. Most of it is the same from last year and there is a couple newbies this year.
First I am going to be sharing our tree and a new house-guest for the holiday season.
Cayce won the Elf on the shelf last year when he worked at Target and it was so late in the month that we decided to start that tradition this year. We aren't doing much with him, he's just hanging out and eyeballing my Georgia Bulldogs ornament.
Next I am going to be showing you what is on my bar.
Next is the kitchen. Not much but it's all we had and want. We have some Christmas mugs, but they were put away or being used in a different room.

Meet Fred the Elf.

Our lone Christmas card so far
my favorite tree
more workshop decor and the Elf on the Shelf book
Stockings for the girls.
Cayce and I have given the girls our stockings because we don't get each other anything for them.
Stocking for Missy, President Snow and Luna
Next is the kitchen. Not much but it's all we had and want. We have some Christmas mugs, but they were put away or being used in a different room.
We have had this Santa mitten since 2008 and he is still kickin'.
The last thing I am going to be showing is my favorite Christmas decor piece this year. I got it for Christmas last year from my mama, and I LOVE it so much.
It's an handblown glass globe.
It also lights up into different colors and I timed the next picture right to get my fave color from it.
Very Frozen-esque. Don't you think
That is it for my holiday decor. I don't have a lot and I never will because I don't have a lot of money or a lot of space. And I can only stand looking at it for a little while before I want to put it all away and dread pulling it out again. I used to love Christmas as a kid, but now I tolerate it for my kids.
Hope you all are having a good Christmas season so far!!!

Kids 2016 Advent Calendars
Back in January when I was still watching Vlogmas videos on YouTube, I decided that I really wanted to get myself and the girls Advent calendars for the upcoming holiday season. I went on Amazon, because that is my main shopping place. I love Amazon. Anyways, I did a lot of "window shopping" and put almost every one I saw on my wishlist.
Remember when I said I was actually excited about this holiday season because I didn't enjoy the last two years, well, I was and still am excited about Christmas. I started buying our calendars back in late September. I bought mine first from Boscov's Department Store.
I was super excited to get it and wanted to open it right away. Let me tell you, it has been difficult to hold back every day since I first got it till November 30. The first item that I got was a candy apple scented body lotion.
I love this calendar, but it is definitely not high on my list. The scents smell cheap and I paid a good 20-30 dollars for it. I am not complaining and I enjoy everyday I get to open another door, but next year, I am not getting this again.
The second advent calendar I bought was for Ariana. I got her a play-doh advent calendar from Amazon. I was going to get her a crayola one, but decided on the play-doh because at the time, that's what she was into.
The first item she got was a Christmas tree doh cutter. She loves all the little tools she has gotten so far. The calendar also comes with 5 little containers of pretty play-doh and she is going to get those on Christmas morning.
The third calendar I got was for Addy. I thought about getting the crayola calendar for her, but it was markers and she does not do well with markers. I ended up getting her a Minion milk chocolate advent calendar. She loves Bob!!! This calendar also came from the United Kingdom, so shipping was out the butt expensive, but it definitely made her happy to see Bob.
The last calendar I bought was Samantha's. I had to get her something that she would really love and was it as a "you be good today and you can open it". Of course it was the LEGO City advent calendar. It was the most expensive one out of all four of the calendars. She loves it and looks at it everyday when she comes into the room.
I am so thrilled to be able to see the smiles on their faces everyday and can't wait til Christmas day. I think this will be a tradition that we will keep doing in the years to come.

Fourth of July 2016
Our 4th of July was awesome. The only con of the day was the heat. The temperatures were in the 100's yesterday, and inside my house it was 80+, needless to say my air conditioner is definitely getting a beating. Cayce had to work till 5pm, so it was just me and the girls at home. We relaxed and watched movies until Cayce got home and then we started cooking. I grilled some burgers and made mac and cheese and we also cooked ribs. It was so delicious that I forgot to take pics. But I did take pics of President Snow.
President Snow has made my beach bag is bed. He sleeps there all the time.
Cayce also bought some boxes of sparklers for the girls. We can't do fireworks where we live because it's heavily wooded and I am not about to start a fire...not about that life.
After we went through two boxes, we sent the kids to bed, and Cayce chilled out by playing Fall Out 4 while I went back and forth between watching YouTube videos and listening to Hamilton on Spotify. I am addicted to Hamilton... I want to see the show SOO BADLY! That's on my bucket list to see a Broadway show sometime in my life. Hope all my US followers had an amazing Independence Day and your bellies are full of good BBQ.
