Sullivan's Island Trip

Last week was our spring break and it was OK. It didn't go as expected. We did end up going to Sullivan's Island and visiting Fort Moultrie, which was fun. It was my 4th or 5th time visiting the Fort and the girls first visit. It was my first time actually walking all over the Fort. I didn't really care the last times I went because it was school field trips and I just wanted to goof around with my friends. And also, every time I made a beeline for the beach....lol.

It was the girls and Cayce's first time going over the Ravanel bridge and they loved it. This was my 2nd time going over it, and it wasn't as scary this time. I think this bridge leads to Mount Pleasant. We headed towards Sullivan's Island. We didn't go to Fort Sumter, this trip, that will be another day when we explore Charleston.

When we got to the Fort Moultrie visitor center, we parked an ended up walking along one of the docks on the water. The wind was brutally cold coming off the water.

We stopped by this little memorial before we started walking on the pier.

We then made our way to go pay to go inside the Fort, and went to the entrance. We did stop by Oceola's memorial.

the entrance to inside the Fort.

I didn't take any pictures inside the fort, I took a video at the beginning. Cayce did take some pictures inside.

The video down below is one I took. We go into a few of the rooms inside and some rooms, I don't know what they were because they didn't have signs indicating.

We eventually made it down to the beach, where the wind wasn't as bad as the river.

they loved walking along the beach

Everytime we go to a beach, we have to take pics together

We then walked around to where all the canons sit and took some funny pictures.

To end our trip to Fort Moultrie, we took more pictures all together.

After we left the Fort, we wanted to go eat. Well, every restaurant was packed because it was lunch time, so we decided to head to the beach. We went to station 23 which is one of the many ways to get to the beach from the road. Well, this station was flooded out and we walked through it. To make a long and angry story short, Cayce lost his keys in one of the flooded puddles and we were now stuck.

We were 2 hours away from our home and spare keys. The doors of the car were locked, and everything inside the car. We had to get our good friend to go to our house and get inside to get our spare car key and drive two hours to come save us. I was so angry and my skin was also getting angry with me because for the rest of the week, I was battling major sunburn.

While Budd was on his rescue mission, we got into the car very loudly and got the alarm off. We then decided to make the most of our time and go back to the beach via station 22 1/2 which was a board walk. I was super pissed about that. We played in the little pond in front of the ocean and then we went into the ocean and it was freezing. By the time we were freezing our toes off, Budd had rescued us and was searching for the car.

We got the key and had to pick up everything that we had all over the ground and put things back and then we left for home. We did finally stop by to get something to eat in Goose Creek. We stopped by Wendy's and I swear it was the best tasting food. Chicken nuggets, sweet tea, small frosty and delicious salty fries. The girls practically inhaled their cheeseburgers and knocked out on the way home.

The rest of spring break was dreadful. I had to send Sammy and Airy to my moms to spend the night on Tuesday and Addy stayed home with me which turned into a clean fest because she decided to get into her diaper bag and play with diaper rash ointment. The rest of the week was spent in agony because the sunburn was awful. We lathered up the after sun lotion and aloe vera. We didn't get what we wanted or needed to do because we were being tortured by our skin. I blame the sunburn on Cayce because we had everything in the car and he lost the keys.

I wonder if the keys have been found yet????

Weekend Trip Possibility

So, today has been great. This morning, I was having somewhat of a good day. Ariana had an early school day and Samantha kept asking for the same thing over and over again, and I got very frustrated. Cayce also got some bad news from the owner of the store and it got him very angry, but then he told me that he wanted to take me to Winnsboro tomorrow to take the car to the dealership to fix the trunk lid.

When Cayce told me that we would just be going on an us trip and the kids would have to stay with my mom, I got very EXCITED!! I was happy that him and I would finally get that alone time that we so desperately need. I was grinning from ear to ear. I did everything that needed to be done in a hurry, even though we won't be leaving until after 2:00pm tomorrow. He said that he was going to take me to dinner and go walk around the Towncenter Marketplace.

I really need this time with him because we don't want to ruin the holidays with fighting.

Well, I'm going to go wait for him to get back from Wal-Mart and wait to watch a movie with him.

South Carolina Trips

I have made a list of cities and town for us to visit in our homestate. We want to travel South Carolina before heading out to the rest of the US. I have been to Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Cayce has been to Georgia and he has been on a bus to Arizona.

I made a lists of 40 cities and towns. We will be going to the towns close to us first and then go to the towns that are upstate or in the lowcountry. Most of the towns have museums and attractions that are family friendly. I'm hoping to have all of our South Carolina trips completed by Christmas 2014.

I think a year and a half will be a good deadline. Tomorrow we will be heading to Lake Murray so we might go to some places in Lexington also.

Great Weekend

I had a fantastic weekend.I watched tv all day and I missed Cayce so much that I cried for the short amount of time he was home on his lunch break. I watched the new episode of Ghost Adventures on Friday night with Cayce.

On Saturday, we went to Blackville to visit my grandpa's grave for his birthday, and introduced Addy. Sammy didn't want to leave and she kept hugging his stone and kissing it. it brought tears to my eyes. That night, Cayce and I went to the drive in and saw Breaking Dawn 2. It was a great date, and I had so much fun. The girls spent some time with my parents while we were watching the movie.

Yesterday, Cayce and I stayed home with the girls and watched the other Twilight movies. We went to Walmart last night and we got some more ink for our printer for Samantha's school. She was happy to do school again today.

This morning, Cayce got up early to head to the food bank to get some formula and diapers, but we didn't get any. We got our 3rd turkey, and it is the biggest. We cooked our 2nd one today and it is so delicious. On Thursday, which will be Thanksgiving, we are taking our 3rd turkey to Cayce's aunt's house so she can fry it for us. We are going to be so sick of turkey, but we will have some food left over to last us.

Planning Trips

I have always wanted to travel and visit landmarks and famous places. When Cayce and I met, I was planning a trip to Europe with the student ambassador program. After Samantha was born, We planned that we would visit each state in America first and then go to different countries.

Since we live in South Carolina, we will be visiting places here first. Places that we haven't been too. I am planning a trip fo us to go to the Cayce Riverwalk, and the Cayce museum. I also want to go to some haunted sites, but I really don't want to take my babies into a place that is filled with the  paranormal.

Tomorrow my dad is having his 50th birthday party, and we have errands to do before. So, I'm going to go for tonight. I will post about the party and pics tomorrow night.
