Lowe's Workshop: Firetruck

The Girls had another fire truck workshop this year. This one had a ladder built on it. So, they will definitely come in handy when I do Samantha fire safety unit coming up in a few weeks. I think they will have their first aprons filled with patches so far. I finally got an iron and ironing board so I can put their hard earned patches on their aprons. We also got 2 more aprons for when they earn more. When I get the patches ironed on, I will post them. It will be a proud mommy moment for sure.

they didn't like a stranger taking their photo, that's why they are not smiling

I love these patches. They are so cute.

Kindergarten: Week 7

This week, we started a fall unit, since Fall started on Tuesday. We focused on leaves too, so there were a lot of worksheets and books on leaves. The way I describe autumn is basically football season. I am sorry, I love football. The seasons to me are

1. spring- baseball
2. summer- beach
3. fall- football
4. winter- basketball and hockey

Eventually my kids will know this and live by it because I am a sports geek, but for right now, I have to stick to the politically correct usage. Today was Johnny Appleseed day and we read about how he was basically a robin hood type of guy. The two things that stuck with Samantha was that he planted apple trees everywhere and he didn't hurt animals.

Cayce's Concussion Update 2

So, Cayce has been hurt and out of work for a week now. Yesterday, he went up to the hospital to fill out more paper work for his claims and to get his diagnosis for the company that is going to be held responsible for his injury, and it seemed like he was having a good day because his headaches weren't as severe and his vision wasn't a blurry. So, he tried to go back to the store this morning, and he ended up fainting. His supervisor Darryl from his other job had to pick him up and bring him home. It was scary hearing what happened. His last concussion didn't last this long, and I am wondering if something deeper is seriously damaged that they can't see on any CAT scans.

He just left to go back to the hospital. I know it will be another long night, just hope we can get some more answers. I will update again, with what happens and what the docs say.

Kindergarten: Week 6

Last week was definitely eventful with Cayce's concussion. It didn't really throw us off, it just made our days longer than usual. On Thursday, Cayce did take Sammy to the library and park for some reading by herself and exercise/ art time with some chalk.  She had fun spending her school time with daddy and she did hopscotch like Special Agent Oso. Cayce got a video and it is super cute. I started teaching her how to play Uno, and she also helped me with folding her and Ariana's clean clothes and putting them away. That is her new chore to do, along with making her bed and picking up toys throughout the house. Life skills!!! Cayce had to take her to the doctor yesterday for a injury she got at the park on Thursday, so I gave her that day off and we ended up doing school today to make up.

Doing puppet show at the library

she was making shapes with her crayons

she had a hard time looking at her cards at once. It was very funny and cute watching her struggle

A baby animal game with played. she had to roll a baby animal dye and she had to graph whatever animal it landed on and we had a little guessing game going. She wanted the hedgehogs to win(pink) and I wanted the bulldogs to win (green). As you can see who came in 1st and 2nd.

Samantha Park Trip and Doctor Visit

On Thursday, Cayce took Samantha to the park for some exercise and art time with some chalk.
She had a great time with just daddy even though he wasn't doing so great. She got hurt and fell off a climbing thing and bruised her back pretty good. That being said, I had to end up giving her the day off from school because she was complaining so bad about her back hurting, that Cayce took her to the urgent care to make sure she didn't do any major damage. Her diagnosis was just a bruised back. No broken bones or fractures, just sore muscles. Now time to make this a happy post once again, it's picture time.

The yellow twisty thing in this picture is the thing Samantha fell off of. She was on the third step from the bottom and that's where she fell from.

Cayce also took a video of her doing hopscotch. I will eventually put that video on my youtube channel

Cayce's Concussion Update

Cayce ended up with a concussion just like I guessed it. He ended up getting home around 5am yesterday morning. He is out of work until next week. He is so out of it and he has to rest and that's going to be a hard thing to do because he is constantly moving. One example, he took Samantha to the park today and she got hurt. She fell off a pole she was climbing and bruised the middle of her back.

The medicine that they gave him is supposed to help with his nausea and I swear it is making him even more sick. His vision is still blurry and he says that it feels like some one is heating him in the head with a sledgehammer repeatedly.

Today has definitely been a long day. I am going to bed like NOW!

Cayce's Concussion

Since I'm writing this in the early morning hours and haven't gone to sleep yet because I can't without Cayce, I'll just get this post out the way. Yesterday (Tuesday), Cayce was at work at the store. Tuesday is a truck day for the store, so he was unloading with a co-worker. Around 11:15,  he got hit in the head by a block of dry ice that fell from on top of the box he was grabbing. He and his co worker didn't see it. It got him good and made his ear all bloody and his bosses sent him to the medical center here in Swansea to see if he damaged his ear drum.

He got the all clear from the doctor about his ear drum and he went to fill his prescription. On his way back home, he called to tell me that he was having trouble seeing while he was driving. I know he is a freaking moron to call while driving and while he can't see. He got home safely, and I made him some lunch and gave him some ibuprofen and put the ointment in his ear. While that was happening, he started getting a really bad headache and he called our pastor to get him to take him to the hospital.

They were gone for about an hour till Cayce called me and his speech was slurring so bad that pastor had to take the phone away from him to tell me to look for his medical records from when he was in his accident in '97. When they got here, Cayce took one look at me and started crying, and wanting a hug. He is never like this and it broke my heart. The last time he had vision and speech problems and was crying, he had a concussion and that was back in 2009.

So I am guessing they got to the hospital around 6pm, and he called me at 12:20am, and hour and 10 minutes ago, to tell me that they finally called him to the back to be seen by the doctor. I just got a text 10 minutes ago from our pastor, that they were wheeling him to get a CAT scan done.

I am super tired and I will update later when Cayce is back on his feet.

Bobby Newberry - Dirrty Up

This song got my attention when I was watching Yanis Marshall Choreography youtube videos a few weeks ago. This is one of the songs that he danced to and I liked the song. I tried looking for it on Spotify, but it wasn't on there, and youtube was the only way for me to listen to the whole song.

Happy 7 Years Cayce!!!

Today was a great day overall. The only thing that made it unbearable was the weather. It has been raining here for the last 3-4 days and I am getting some serious cabin fever. I need to get out of this house.

The morning started off with getting to sleep a little later than usual, and Cayce got the kids situated so I didn't have to, which was nice. He then ordered us some lunch from IHOP. I, of course got my usual philly cheese steak and fries. YUMM!!!

He also wanted to go by wal-mart and get my gift. He took Sammy with him and she helped pick out my flowers.

I also got a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates. I am a sucked for those. They are my weakness. He got me 2 cards and my favorite one was of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. That picture is on my Instagram.

We ended up being stuck at home for the rest of the day because of the rain. So every anniversary, we have spent at home. Not ideal, but it happens. I would love to take a trip or just get out to somewhere special, but it never happens. For dinner, we made a bangin chicken and dumplings and I would make it again in a heartbeat. If my kids can inhale it and ask for more, I know it was definitely delicious.

Later that night when the kids were in bed, Cayce went by the gas station and picked us up some Nesquick limited edition girl scout cookie milks. My favorite is of course the caramel coconut.

KIndergarten: Week 5

This week was some serious fun. We got some great laughs out of the week and it was memorable. We did a lot of crafts and one was a very particular favorite on Facebook and Instagram and the subject of said craft was even made fun of at work......hehehe, I guess we all know who that person is. Sorry Cayce! Picture Time!!

Here is said craft

she had to draw daddy for the letter D. I had to print this picture because as soon as I read how to do the craft, this pic automatically popped into mind, and the picture in general turned out GREAT. it got so many likes on my Facebook and Instagram as soon as it was posted and that night when Cayce got home, he busted out laughing because he had heard about it at work from Budd because I tagged Cayce to it and I guess Budd didn't show him. The next day, his supervisor called it a GREAT LIKENESS. It was amazing.

Proud

Since she was doing the letter D this week, I had to show her this Robin Williams dinosaur scene. This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie Mrs. Doubtfire, and she loved it too and laughed at the raptor rap. She is learning from the classics.

We started our unit on baby animals this week and I finally found her some more color by numbers. I have a feeling that that's one of the things she is going to be wanting for Christmas because everyday she asks me for some color by number pages.

she made a circle dog.

I am going to use my Facebook caption that I put with this because it is seriously true.
