Last week was a rough one. Last Monday, my husband had a deer run out in front of the car and destroyed the passenger side. I am beyond thankful that the deer didn't go through the windshield or windows and that it didn't deploy the airbags. Our insurance agent was with my husband every step of the way and called multiple times throughout the day to check to see if Cayce was alright and not in shock. We got the car in the shop that day and got a rental.
Deer running out in front of cars especially on certain roads where I live is un avoidable. This is the third deer that has ran out in front of him on the way to work. He leaves at 6AM every morning and the road is right across from our home. This third time caused the most damage. It's been a week and my anxiety has been in overdrive every morning since when he leaves.
With that being said, our home life and my reading life took a minor back seat. My kids also had dentist appointments that lasted an hour each and they all have cavities because they didn't see the dentist at all last year due to pandemic. There's my drama for the week.

DeleteSo glad the accident wasn’t worse. And I totally feel for your kids. My first trip back was full of bad news. Yay for me. Have a great week!
ReplyDeletei was so shocked but knew that I would have one with cavities because she is prone to them, but all three... geez.
DeleteOh gosh, your poor husband!! That sounds so scary.
ReplyDeleteit is scary to have that happen three times in less than a year on the same exact road, same exact time and in the same area.
DeleteOh no that is so scary. Glad he's okay. I live in Michigan and deer encounters aren't rare here either, unfortunately. They can do so much damage!
ReplyDeleteYour new books look good.
it's kind of funny that the day it happened, deer season opened up. and my husband's co workers who are hunters gave him so much crap about it and how it got away.
DeleteI am sorry to hear about your husband's accident Kelly and while the car is badly damaged, I am very relieved your husband is okay. I hope the car can be fixed and that this week has been better for your anxiety and reading. 🙂
ReplyDeleteI was going to say what a freak thing to have happen, but I guess it's not so rare in your area. So glad your husband wasn't hurt and that the insurance is stepping in quickly!
