21 Day Challenge

I am part of this group on Facebook, and for the past 2 weeks, I have been seeing this 21 day challenge that people are starting. I decided that I will try it and start it on February 1st, which will be this Saturday. I will also be doing 30 day of planks. I'm disappointed to say that most of the weight I lost last year, it came back around the holidays.

Here is what the 21 day challenge consist of.

  • NO Chips
  • NO Sodas
  • NO Diet Sodas
  • NO Chocolate
  • NO Candy
  • NO White Bread
  • NO Cookies
  • NO Biscuits
  • NO Fast Food
I will have to come up with some ideas for Adalyn's birthday for Cayce and I, because Cayce has agreed to do this challenge with me. I'm excited.

Snow 2014

It finally started snowing last night at around 10:30pm. The kids were in their warm beds and Missy was curled up in our bed. We woke the kids up to let them see it come down and we promised them that right when they got up, they could go out and play in it. So, last night, Cayce and I finished watching a movie and went to sleep.
The sleet

I wrote this in the snow on the back porch right before I went to sleep

Sammy woke us up this morning screaming that the snow was melting and sure enough, it was melting away. So we quickly got the girls bundled up and went outside and it was COLD!!!

When we got outside, I walked Addy around in the snow while Cayce played with the girls in the snow off the car.

I love them

Teaching them how to make snowballs
Unfortunately, the snow couldn't be made into snowballs. So we took them to the whitest patch of snow that wasn't disturbed and let them make snow angels.
having fun

Sammy's angel

Ariana did her arms first and then her feet

Can't see it that good.

I can't forget pictures of Cayce! He is such a kid at heart, right when we got outside he did this!
he is such a goofball

I love him

Where's the Snow?

So, the news has been saying for the past 5 days now that we are going to have snow today and tomorrow. One thing I hate the most is weather forecasters because they are ALWAYS WRONG! They said that it would start around noon, then between 2pm and 4 pm and now they are saying that it will start around 9 tonight and it will be mainly ice.

I told Samantha last night that it was going to snow today and that she would be able to play in it. She was excited along with Ariana and they jumped in bed and didn't fight it. She has been asking all day what time will it snow, and I had to keep telling her that it will come soon. Cayce might be coming home from work early if the roads ice up.

It's starting to sleet and I have a feeling that he will be home soon. I got dinner in the crockpot so I have to go finish it.

Letter Curriculum: Week 35

This week, Samantha did vowel I. She is catching on to the vowels and also working on the sounds of the letters. I need to know if other 4 year olds know their vowels. She is AWESOME!!!! Ok, back to recapping the week.

Monday:
working on letter sounds

matching letters
Tuesday: The math lesson for the week was isosceles triangles and the color was ivory. I didn't cover these topics because she is still learning basic shapes and I didn't want to confuse her. I told her that ivory is elephant's tusk and she will see it when we go to the zoo next weekend.
she loves these types of pages.
Wednesday: Her science lesson was on ivy and iris. She loved the iris when I told her that it had colors of the rainbow.

she made her "rainbow" iris.

Thursday: Her social studies lesson was on Ireland, but we didn't do it. I wanted to focus more on her letters and recognition, and vowel work.

She is supposed to color these pages, but she just wants to do the lines.
Friday:
Review day. She is through 3 vowels and 2 more to go.
I NEED MORE OF THESE PAGES!!!!!!
she loves these.

I HATE Cold Weather

I'm ok with temperatures in the 50"s but whenever it gets below that, I become IRATE about it. These temps that are in the teens and lower 30's are working my nerves. The temps ruin plans and give people cabin fever. That being said, we did not get to go to the museum and park yesterday morning because it was just TOO cold. Also, we canceled our plans to go to Zesto's tonight after supper.

It's not supposed to get this cold in the south and they are calling for snow next week, shoot me now. I am fine with snow, but it can't overstay it's welcome. It has to be gone after a couple hours. I can't stand being stuck somewhere because of snow because southerners DO NOT KNOW how to drive in it.

On Sunday they are calling for the high to be in the 50's, which will get a little happy dance from me.
I am going to get my kids out of this house on Sunday. They need to run off this energy and my cabin fever is about to drown me. I AM LOSING MY MIND! I need the spring and warmth to hurry and get here.

Tomorrow and Friday Plans

I have been hating this month so far, but we finally have plans for tomorrow morning and Friday night. We came up with these plans on Sunday night. I have been wanting to take the girls to the Cayce Historical Museum for a while now, and I have been wanting to go on a Sunday, but we never have time to go.

It's going to be VERRRRYYYY cold tomorrow morning, but we are going to bundle the kids up and go because we need a trip out of the house and there is a park right next door, and I want the girls to run off their endless amount of energy. I will blog post about it tomorrow afternoon while Cayce is at work.

Our plans for Friday night is to go to Zesto's. It's this restaurant that has the best ice cream. Samantha's trip recommendation for the week is to go to a ice cream shop, so we are going to have a spaghetti dinner at home, and then bundle up once more and head out for some ice cream. I know that they will enjoy it because we won't be cooped up in the house.

Cayce and I are going to finally build this gingerbread train tonight. I will take pics and post about it over the weekend. Time to go get everything ready for tomorrow morning.

Prep. Curriculum: Week 12 (Ariana)

This week was about ducks. I swear this child pulled out every stuffed duck, plastic duck, bath toy ducks we could find. It was a fun week. She even remembers that a baby duck is called a duckling.

Monday:
This is one of the books that we read this week. She enjoyed this one the most.

Tuesday:

The color this week was white. She drew the smiley faces in the flowers.

Coloring a picture of daisy duck

Wednesday: We worked on the letter L. She was a little off and not really wanting to pay attention but she ended up getting her work done, and she couldn't wait to be done.

Thursday: I gave the girls the day off because I was feeling horrible and couldn't focus on much.

Friday: We doubled up on lessons and she was excited to do school and wanted to do more after we finished everything.
