Still working my way through this manga series because my daughters love it and I am enjoying the anime. I am not caught up to this part in the show though and I think that is what is impacting my enjoyment of this somewhat. I can't keep the characters separate when reading the manga, especially in fight scenes and the case with this volume is that there are a shit ton because the villians attack the students while they are in the forest.
The students are on a training mission and while they are in their groups and scattered, the villians make their move to take out the students. They have targets on who the strongest ones are and they also have their eyes on Bakugo and want him to join the vanguard because of his quirk.
Deku is off fighting on his own and trying to save Kota who likes to go to his secret spot and of course the villian who killed Kota's parents would be coming after him and Deku does a mega move with 1,000,000 percent.
One of the hero students, Tokoyami or bird boy as I like to call him, loses complete control over his shadow familiar and it goes on a rampage. The students find out how to stop it and we also get information that using quirks against people is strictly prohibited and only in certain self defense cases is it ok and not breaking the law.
This is the first volume that I read in one day. When I had to put it down to take care of adult responsibilities aka CHILDREN, I immediately picked it back up when I had the chance. I have volume 10 out from the library but I want to catch up with the show first. We are currently in the middle of season 2 and where I am at in the manga, it is the middle of season 3.
Also, the sexual hype was basically non existent in this volume which is part of the reason why I enjoyed this one more. I still give it four stars because all of the character fighting, I got confused and it was all thrown together and it wasnt coherent.
