Adalyn's Zoo Trip

We took Adalyn to the zoo on Sunday for her birthday because we won't be able to go anywhere on Thursday. We went to breakfast at the Swansea Coffee Shop.

After we left, we headed to the zoo.

my beautiful girls

the four loves of my life
When we got into the garden, we sat in the huge chair and secret house, they have.

the chair is very Alice in Wonderland

She is so tiny in the chair

yea, he's weird.
We got onto the tram and headed into the zoo. The first thing we did was to let Sammy and Ariana ride the merry go round. Addy couldn't ride because she is way to little, but she did love watching it go round and round.
Ariana was scared at first.

Addy loved it. She was squealing the whole time

Sammy kept saying hey mama, bye mama and then she would giggle.
We went to the lorikeets next so the girls could feed them. It was right next to the koala exhibit.

trying to get the birds attention

Ariana was being scared.

She didn't want the bird on her

Cayce tried to move the bird and the bird tried to nip him. It was hilarious.
We walked to the tigers and lions after the lorikeets.

After we left here, we headed to the giraffes. I wanted to let the girls feed the giraffes before time was up, but then we got there and the attendant said that she was out of food. I was irritated that she had to say it so loud and rude and in front of my kids because they were looking forward to feeding them.  So we headed to the barn.

she did a good job working the udders.

We then let Sammy feed the goats. Ariana didn't want to get near them.

We went by the flamingos and then to the aquarium. After that, we left to go home. They were pretty tired and they had fun.

Prep. Curriculum: Week 14 (Ariana)

Horses was the theme. She kept her Aiken Thoroughbred Hall of Fame horse by her side all week, if it wasn't being chewed on by Adalyn. The week went by quickly and I feel that we didn't cover everything as well as I would like, so next time we go back to Aiken, we are going to take a field trip to a horse ranch.

Tuesday:
Ariana did school with DADDY! They read and colored together. It was a gorgeous moment.

Letter Curriculum: Week 36

Almost finished with this curriculum. It has flown by quickly, and this has definitely been a SUCCESS!. When we started, Sammy didn't know the ABC's and she couldn't recognize the letters. But now she knows them all and everywhere we go, she points out letters. It's amazing.

This week, we did the vowel O. She recognizes the word vowels, and knows that there are 5. We only did 4 days of school this week because I gave them a "snow" day on Wednesday.

Monday:

Tuesday:
We had a late school day because we were expecting snow ALL day. We kept waiting for it and we ended up doing school when Cayce came home early and it started sleeting.

The best thing that the girls enjoyed about doing their work on Tuesday, is that daddy did it with them. Not mommy, I took pictures.

Wednesday:
I gave them the day off to enjoy the snow and have fun with daddy while he had an unexpected day off from work.

Thursday:
Double lesson day. Sammy was not feeling good at all and kept getting sick. It was horrible, but she was a trooper and made it through her work with a smile on her face even though she felt miserable. I think the rare 2 hour nap helped before she did school.

Friday:
I ended up doing her science and social studies lesson on this day instead of Thursday because of how she was feeling. She learned about oak trees and the Olympic rings. She is excited to watch the Olympics on TV soon.

I brought up a picture of the Olympic rings and she colored the rings exactly how they were on the computer.

This week, she finished her big alphabet workbook. I'm excited. Now next week, she'll start working more in her mead preschool workbook that I used for review weeks.
