Review: Rebel Robin by A.R. Capetta

Continuing my Stranger Things read and watch along. This book and the next book Lucas On The Line come before season 4. When I started season 3, I was a little hesitant about Robin and I didn't think I was going to like her character. She started to grow on me and when the end of the season came and she revealed some personal information, it all came together and she became a fave.

Going into this book, I had low expectations because the book about Max was just a re-write of season 3 with a couple of paragraphs of new information. This book truly goes into Robin's life and how she is a band nerd and how she has a small group of friends and we dig deeper into her crush that we find out in season 3 of the show.

This book takes place during the first season of the show when Will and Barb go missing. We get her snarky attitude with the adults and how her parents were hippies. She is planning a solo Europe trip and her English teacher who figures out what her secret is way before she figures it out herself becomes an ally and eventually he has to leave town because of his secret.

We get appearances from Joyce, Hopper, Steve, Nancy, Barb and the beloved Bob. I really loved the ending where she crashes prom and her parents car, but it is the surprise dance that really had me squealing. I hope that we get some dating in Robin's future because if Stranger Things can pull an inter-racial relationship between Lucas and Max, we can get some boy on boy and girl on girl love!
