300th Post

I can't believe that I have blogged 300 times. It feels good that I have kept up with over 14 months now. I'm just going to talk about how my day went, nothing really special. This morning, I was the one getting Cayce out of bed and I haven't been cranky or tired AT ALL today and that is with no coffee. I got things done around the house and we got some food in the house as well, along with some necessities.

Samantha amazed me today and makes me want to cry. She is drawing her very first pictures. She has been drawing flowers all day. At first, she was drawing them in her coloring book and I thought that they were already there from the little girl who had it last. I put Ariana and Adalyn down for their naps and I brought Sammy into my room and gave her a piece of printer paper and she got her crayons, and I told her to draw me some flowers to see if they were actually hers, and BOOM, they were. She was super excited to show me what she learned by herself.

I have the paper on my dresser leaning up against the mirror and everytime I look at it, I want to cry. She is also drawing faces and she tried to draw Missy today and I thought that was the cutest thing.

I will have a picture post with her drawings later in the week.

Letter Curriculum: Week 21

This week we did the letter Q. It was a long tiring week for all of us, and we took the day off on Friday. On Monday, I still didn't have my ink, so I had to come up with some ideas to make the lessons the right length of time.
This was Samantha's favorite book this week. She laughed so hard at the end everytime we read it, and I admit I did too.

On Tuesday, we didn't have a color to learn this week, so I let her color some pages in other workbooks.

On Wednesday, we continued what we did on Tuesday. We couldn't do our science lessons. I will be making up this lessons in the upcoming weekends.

On Thursday, Samantha was getting bored with doing the same thing and I didn't have anymore workbook pages for her to color at the time, so I decided to start her scissors lesson, because I had finally gotten that package. I told her that she had to be careful and everytime she gets through using them now, she puts them down and says safety first like seatbelt. She said that in front of Cayce that night and completely shocked him. I'm proud of her learning.

On Friday, I planned on doing school with her, but we were very tired with waking up so early in the mornings and going to bed late at night. We are slowly getting used to our new bedtimes and wake up times with Cayce's job hours now. So around 6:00 tonight, we spent some time playing outside, and we came in and worked in the alphabet workbook and she did 4 pages of scissor work.
We finally have ink thanks to Cayce for going to walmart and buying it. The one I ordered came from Brooklyn and when I tracked it earlier, it was in New Jersey. You would think that the Amazon company here in West Columbia, would have the ink in stock.

Cookbook Work

I'm hoping to have my 1st cookbook done by December 31st. I have 9 sections and I have only 2 of them complete. I'm falling behind on typing them up. I have been working on this since June of 2009. Collecting recipes that I like or want to try and if they are good, I take a picture, type up the recipe and put it into my cookbook. I'm not publishing it, I'm hoping that it will stay a family cookbook and that my girls and future grandkids will one day cook from it.

I have Cayce drawing pictures of the sections I have. He has done 5, and he has to finish them whenever he can, or I might find some online to put on the dividers. I'm hoping to have the slow cooker and beverage done next.

Cayce's 2nd Job

This is the 3rd time that Cayce has went back to this job. It's the only grocery store in Swansea. He started working there in August of 2008, 2 months after we moved in together and we just found out that we were pregnant with Samantha. He had to drop out of school to be able to get that job, so he did, and helped me finish school. He quit when Samantha was 2 months old, and started working at Accurate, which was way better and got more money.

The 2nd time we went back, we were looking at a house to buy and we had to get our credit up and so he went back to the grocery store to pay our bills, and to help with Ariana's formula and diapers. He only stayed 2-3 months, before he started getting tired.

This time, we are somewhat struggling. He wants to save this money for when we have emergencies like last Friday with the well, and we had to take what we were saving for our light bill and go get the parts to fix the well. I'm very thankful for him and even though the girls and I miss him, I know that he is doing it so I'm able to stay home with the kids and homeschool them.

He has tomorrow morning off from the store, but still has to go to work tomorrow night, so we will have some much needed family time in the morning. Next Thursday for Ariana's birthday, he told me last night that he has that day off completely, so we will DEFINITELY be taking advantage of that.

New Month= POSITIVE Attitude

I am always excited for a new month to start, especially this month after the hell I went through last month. But, I'm not going to talk about that because my goal for this month is to stay positive on everything. I always get stressed at the end of the months because that when our major bills are due, and I pray all the time when Cayce goes to work that he doesn't get sent home early for any reason.

This month, I have to stay positive and it will be happy time for me because Ariana's birthday is next Thursday. I can't believe that she will be 3 years old. I am hoping that we can take her and Samantha to the fair next weekend for her birthday trip. We didn't have a party for Samantha's 3rd birthday, she got a trip to the zoo, so Ariana will be getting a trip as well. Adalyn will be having a 3rd birthday party because she didn't have a first, she got a trip to the zoo. I'm hoping to be able to get in 1 or 2 family trips this month, and then some sort of date night with Cayce. We desperately need some alone time together and with him working 2 jobs again, we are going to have to have a connection time.

I got Sammy her very first pair of scissors today, I ordered it offline. I'm a little disappointed in them because I thought they would be pink, but they are blue. But, they work and that is all that matters. I also got my hole puncher today and I will be able to get some things done and get some of my page protectors back. I'm still waiting on my ink, the only thing I really needed is the last thing to get shipped. Who'd thunk it?

I have to go get some sleep. Been up since 6:15 this morning, and I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON! I need some sleep or I am going to get a migraine. Good night all!
