Girls Responsibilities

A few weeks ago, I gave Samantha and Ariana there very first responsibility. They both have to feed Missy everyday, because I forget to feed her. She doesn't go hungry because she can sure hunt some snakes and mice.

They have been doing great at it, and Missy has sure put on some weight. I'm going to give them another chore to start doing soon. It will be to make their beds every morning and after naps. Sammy is already making her bed, but Ariana likes to put her sheet over her head and act like a ghost. So, it might be a while for her to learn how to keep her sheets on the beds.

We are working on potty training Ariana. My goal is to have her trained or almost trained by Christmas.

Thanksgiving Plans

Even though I don't want to think about the holidays being here just yet, it is time to get the ball rolling on the plans. I talked to Cayce last night and so far we have come up with definitely staying home this year, just our little family. Cayce will not work either job that day. I won't allow it. The other is to have a nice feast that we can eat on for days.

I'm hoping that the weather is nice and warm that day so we can go outside and clean up the yard, and get rid of leaves and burn in the hole. I love how sometimes it's warm on holidays. Especially on Christmas when we can wear shorts outside. Well, that's wasn't the case last year because it rained. But the year before that, we were playing outside in shorts and tank tops because it was hot.

Anyways, back to Thanksgiving. We always put our Christmas tree up on Thanksgiving or the weekend before. Since Cayce works weekends now, we will have to wait until Thanksgiving day. I personally don't want to put it up yet. I am turning into my mother. She never liked Christmas and didn't let me or my dad put up lights or a tree when I got into middle school. She told me that only babies did that and since I was growing up, we were going to stop. Every Christmas, my presents would be on the coffee table, it was kind of depressing. I don't like putting up our tree anymore because I feel like life is being rushed by and it's a sign my babies are getting older.

Yesterday & Today

Yesterday morning, Cayce went in to the bi-rite and he said that he was off all morning and his boss wasn't happy with him. When he got home from the store, he called into Accurate and asked for 1 day of funeral leave for my grandma. His job offers 3 days paid funeral leave for employees and employee spouses immediate families.

We did plan on going to see my great grandma, but I read that she was having a bad day and yelling at everyone, so I decided not to take the girls up there. I hope that she will be able to fight until Thanksgiving, but I don't want her to suffer anymore.

Today felt more normal, I guess she was doing better today but didn't get any updates from my family. Cayce went back to work both jobs today. Yesterday, him and I needed that time together and he considered my grandma as his own. I'm just hoping that nothing happens this week or weekend and that we can have a peaceful and happy weekend and celebrate a birthday with Cayce's family.

RIP Grandma

On Friday morning at 3:30, my grandmother, who had an aggressive form of cancer all over her body, died. It was really tough. The day I found out that she was in the hospital with cancer, I thought of her earlier that morning and thought to myself that we weren't that close and she always favored my younger cousin Ricky.

I planned on visiting her that week until Cayce crashed the car. Last week, I couldn't fit a day in to go take the kids to visit her because of Cayce's work. It hurt me badly that the kids and I didn't get to say goodbye to her and she never got to meet Adalyn.

Her viewing was on Saturday. I left the kids with my mom and I rode with my dad to the funeral home. When we got there, I found out that they moved my great grandma to hospice on Thursday night. I don't know how much more my family can take. It was nice to have the pastor that is close to Cayce and I officiate my grandmother's funeral.

On Sunday, that morning, I was doing everything I could to keep from thinking about the funeral. When we put the girls down for naps, I jumped in the shower and started getting ready. We dropped the kids back off at my mom's and my daddy drove Cayce and I back to the funeral home. It was a short service. We didn't follow the hearse to the cemetery which was in Swansea. The cemetery service wasn't that long and my pop busted out crying and I hate when I see a grown man cry.

I love and miss you grandma. The girls love and miss you too. Cayce loves and misses you!

Prep Curriculum: Week 3 (Ariana)

Ariana is doing great with the curriculum. She is remembering everything and her coloring is getting a little bit better. I put my hand on hers and she moves my hand, but I sometime have to guide her back inside the lines. This week she learned about kittens and her vocab word was claws. She had a little trouble remembering claws.

Hello November

I was going to write this post saying how excited I was for a new month, clean slate! Two hours ago, my dad called me and told me that my grandmother passed away early this morning. It broke my heart because I wasn't able to go see her because of Cayce and his stupidity, and she never met Adalyn. I called Cayce on his 3:00pm break and told him I needed him home and he said no. I thought he would always be here for me, and now I know that it has been a lie.

This month will be hard and I'm hoping that Cayce and I can work on our relationship, but I think it is a done deal. I will keep blogging about my beautiful babies that will always be here for me and put a smile on my face.

So, I pray that this month will get better for me.
