REVIEW: I love the concept of this story. A world where the citizens are split into two groups called the gifted and the ungifted. The main character Etta is being toyed with by the leader of Craewick. This women is called Madame and she is an evil bitch. She rules by putting fear into everyone. She kills criminals and traitors by hosting an auction where she takes that happiest memories from that person and sells them to the highest bidder. She then makes the person forget how to breathe or make their heart forget how to beat.
I was terrified at some points because of the manipulation and how the characters were in the asylum, especially how Madame was behaving. How the author made it seems like a snake and it gave me goosebumps. The book was very fast paced as I started it on a Friday and finished it Sunday night but it was a little too fast because I had to go back and read certain parts where the author was describing one thing and it completely changed in the next sentence. The world building and character building were very mediocre and I know that the author can only go up from here. I have a feeling that her next book will be top notch.
