My status update on Facebook today:

"Sammy has her first day off from school today. I don't understand why kids are sent to school on this day. when I went, my teachers sure as hell didn't talk about what happened, they treated it like any other normal day. I told Sammy the best I could yesterday about what happened and this is her summary. bad men took planes and flew them into buildings and hurt a lot of people and that they were mean. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. I was in 5th grade and sitting in Ms. Bolen's homeroom class, and we not being told about it till 2:30 that afternoon. As long as I homeschool my kids, my kids will always have this day off and Cayce and I will not ignore it! NEVER FORGET! 9/11"

Kindergarten: Week 4

This week is our 4th week of homeschooling and also the 1st week of September. I am happy that it is a new month, usually I hate the months passing by so quickly, but I am not even worried about it because I can't wait for Sammy to learn more and the holidays. We did school on Labor day when everyone else went, but whatever. Cayce got to see her in action while he was off work for the holiday and he was very impressed. We got to make lots of crafts and she got to play with her counting bears. I even went back into lessons from her prep. curriculum and letter curriculum to do since she has a better understanding than she did the first time. it was amazing seeing her progress in front of my eyes and I will definitely keep going back to those.

PICTURE TIME!!!!!!

she made a little army of bears

Kindergarten: Week 3

This week we got our routine down a lot more and we actually had more fun and no longer school this week. I wanted to start spelling with her this week, but quickly put that idea on the backburner. I have figured out when I want to start addition with her and I am going to start that at the end of September, because what I have planned for her on Halloween involves adding. Now picture time.

I did this one. you can see the variety of words

Lowe's Workshop: Monsters Vs. Aliens Robot

Here is another Monsters vs. Aliens workshop. This one was fairly simple I think. All they have to do is hold the stick on the back and make the robot move, like a puppet.

look at her, doing so good and so focused.

I love her look of concentration.

they are so cute with their goggles and little hammers. I can't wait for Adalyn to start.
