Freebie Haul 12/7- 12/12

This freebie week was very small. I am grateful for the freebies I did receive and don't want to come off as a selfish brat and ungrateful. Some weeks are great and huge and some weeks are just crappy! But, everything I do get, has been or will be used.

Monday: I got 3 freebies. One I can use and can't wait to taste.
January 2016 issue of Cycle World
Cayce really enjoys looking through this. I am happy I got it for him.

2 Southern Breeze tea bags

Wine Spectator magazine

Tuesday: I only got one freebie today and it was so tasty. It was the coconut dates. It came two in a package, so I had one and then Sammy and Airy split the second one.
Natural Delights dates

Wednesday: I got my mail super early this morning. I usually get it in the afternoon, and getting it before 11am really threw me off today. I got another 10-pack of boxes from the post office for the holidays. And in my mailbox was a magazine.
January 2016 issue of Family Circle

10-pack boxes.
I am thinking about getting 1 or 2 more packs before the new year. You never knew and this would come in handy in the future. I can store them in the kids closets.

Thursday: I got 1 freebie today. It was a JustGoGirl sample pack.
I can always use these.

Friday: It was a good freebie day. I got some of what I was expecting, but not all of it.
December 21, 2015 issue of Us Weekly

December 21, 2015 issue of ESPN magazine

My pinchme box and Cayce's pinchme box

Enfagrow Next Step milk, and Breathe Right strips
Both of our boxes only had these items in them. I am hoping that the rest of our items come in tomorrow. I was going to give the milk to my best friend who just had a baby and this says it is for 1 year and up, so I am giving them to Addy and she loved it.

now cranberry pomegranate immune support

Advil Crowdkit

o.b tampons

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
I got this from a Facebook Sampler event

Saturday: I got two magazines and a surpirse frrebie that I thought would take longer to get here.
December 17-31, 2015 issue of Rolling Stone

January 2016 Popular Photography issue

Goetze t-shirt (front)
I got this t-shirt by sending in caramel creme wrappers into the sweet swag give-away. They did it for the Cow Tales and Caramel Cremes. To get this shirt, I had to have 100 points and they have the point value for the packaging on their site. This runs till the end of the month for both Cow Tales and Caramel Cremes.

(back)

The beginning of this week was slow and small, but it picked up on yesterday. I am ready for next week and I will also be redeeming some of my birthday freebie coupons as well. Those will be in a separate post.

School Week 17 Recap

We started off the week more on the laid back side. We gig productive things, but Monday was more of a relax and have fun kind of day. Last week, I stated that we were going to try to get a lot done before the new year, so we could focus on other things.

Monday: We started the day with morning work and we read our own books since we didn't pick up library books on Saturday.

Happy kids, happy mommy

After I read to them, they did their quiet time and they read aloud to each other, it was just too cute. After quiet time, they wanted to play Hi-Ho Cherry-O again. They played it for a good 45 minutes. They then played and worked with the dominoes. They decided to count all the dots on every dominoe. To end the day, I decided to talk to them about Pearl Harbor. We watched some youtube videos of the ships and President FDR saying his famous line.
this was a crash course video by John Green on WW2

the famous speech by FDR

Tuesday: I woke up this morning feeling like my head was about to explode. I went to bed early the night before and Cayce woke me up when he got back with Addy this morning around 11. Sammy knew I wasn't feeling good, so she requested that they watch a Christmas movie until I got woke up and deal with my migraine. After the movie, they drew their pictures.
their pictures on the refrigerator

We did quiet time together today. I read some of Sparked. That book is getting so good. OMG, I can't wait to review it. Anyways, after quiet time, I had Samantha re-write her sight words that she has been working on since the beginning of the school year an Ariana did her computer work.

New sight words for Samantha to work on until January.

Ariana made her jack in the box for the letter "J" .

While Ariana was still working on her computer work, I had Samantha tell me the time off of my clock. Then I had her take the yellow clock and put the time on that one without help. She did so well, and remembered what I told her that last time about counting between the numbers too.

I then got her to get a workbook and picked out some addition pages for her to do and then I put her to work on some clock pages. She did amazing on those.

Wednesday: We started the morning with our usual work. Then we read library books. One of the books we read, had a list of Christmas words in the back, so I chose 7 words for them to copy in their blue composition notebooks. After they got done with that, we did quiet time. I read again with them today. They love when I read with them during quiet time.

After quiet time, Samantha did more math in her workbooks. She is getting so good at addition. We are going to start doing more subtracting. She knows what it means but sometimes, she mixes up the symbols and all that.

Airy being rude... lol, i'm j/k. She was working on some computer work.

She started the letter K today.

We ended the day with watching Elf. They have never watched the movie all the way through and I hadn't seen it in a while so we watched it and they loved it.

Thursday: Today was a confusing day. It didn't go as planned and it wasn't really a school day, well it was but we didn't do book or computer work. Sammy went with Cayce shopping and picked out clothes for her and her sisters for Christmas an Airy stayed with me to do some regular school work along with some life skills work, like chores by herself. I did quiet time with her and when Cayce and Samantha got back, then we went grocery shopping.
Airy did dominoes before Cayce and Sammy got back home.

standing in line and following me just like this throughout the store.

Story time: Cayce and I were in JROTC when we were in high school. I loved it and would have taken the class again my senior year if my school didn't change classes to 7 a day and all year long. I can only stand and tolerate that class for only 90 days. But Cayce implemented this little standing and following in line at the store today. They were following me and every time I stopped, they stopped. Addy strayed from the line only when we stopped. The top picture has to be my fave. I posted it on Facebook right when we left the grocery store and it got so many likes from my friends that we went to school with that know we were really big in the ROTC program and family members who were proud of us staying in the program as long as we did.

Friday: We started at our normal time today and it was a good and non stressful day. The girls started with cleaning their room, making beds and getting dressed and then they did their morning workbooks. We went ahead and did quiet time to go ahead and get that out of the way. I didn't read with them today but I really wanted to.
I love this pic of Sammy and President Snow together.

yea, pictures during quiet time... :D

After quiet time, they wanted to do their workbooks. I wanted them to do them yesterday after we got back from grocery shopping to end the day, but it was already a long day and they did enough, so workbooks was on today's agenda.

After they got tired of doing workbooks and working in them for about 2 hours. I just let them color some Christmas coloring pages to get in the spirit of Christmas. To end the day, we watched Enchanted. Growing up, I liked watching princess movies around Christmas time with my dad. He always made time and did that with me, so I want to keep that tradition going just in case one year, the kids want to go to my parents house for a few days before Christmas, they can watch princess movies with their Papa.

Next week, will be the final full week of this year. The week after that, they will only be doing two days and that will be the 22nd and the 23rd. and then the last week of December will be a 3 day week with them having New Year's Eve and New Year's Day off.

Sparked

I started this book on Sunday. It is called Sparked. I don't know much about this book. The back of the book sounds like a contemporary romance. I will be posting the review to this book around the end of the month. I am trying to get through some ARC's this month.

Welch's Refreshingly Simple Review

Yay!!!! Another BzzAgent blog post. This time it is going to be about the Welch's mission. I thought that they would just send me a coupon in the mail for a free bottle.. NO!! They sent me a full size bottle that barely fit in my mailbox. I was excited that I didn't have to go searching for it to try it.
I requested the flavor Strawberry Raspberry. This started making my mouth water when I tugged it out of my mailbox. I could smell it through the box. It was even more fragrant when I finally got the bottle opened and poured my kids their glasses. It was definitely 6 thumbs up. Samantha, Ariana and Adalyn ENJOYED it and demanded more!

Here is my Facebook post that I posted for family and friends to read and decide if they want to try it for themselves.

**Facebook**
This was a juice that topped every single one we have had. It wasn't overly sweet and my 6 year old demanded that we start getting this new type from now on. It was very fragrant and as soon as the cap was off, you could just smell the strawberries and then the raspberries. It is just like the title says, it is refreshingly simple. It doesn't leave a gross feeling in your mouth and the sweetness is toned down. I can't wait to try the other flavors!!

So, try out BzzAgent today. It is completely free and all opinions in this post are 100% my own.

Particle Man Review

This was an amazing book. Thank you to Deric McNish for writing the amazing novel! Please write more!! Now onto my review. I finished this book on November 30 and wrote my review the same day.

Like always, it is posted on my Goodreads page.

*** GoodReads Review***

I received this ARC for an honest review and I am SOOOOO glad I did. This book was brilliant. It was simply amazing. It made me laugh so much. The witty humor was what kept the story going for me even when I got bored with the scientific parts. I don't understand science one bit, but it seemed every time I would get bored, there would be something funny.

I love how the book was written. It was like a journal type and I loved how it written in first person and it was like the author was actually talking to you. It made me think several different times, did all of this really happen. The sister- brother rivalry brought back childhood memories of my older brother and I and how we acted the same exact way towards each other.

Back to what I said at the beginning about not understanding science, I did remember the Hadron Collider. My senior year of high school in 2009, the day it was to go live or start, I remember my classmates talking about it non stop and how we were all going to die and my biology teacher was a big instigator on that part. He was a clown, but it was still scary to think about. It made me question were the ones mentioned in this book real before the Hadron Collider. I have only heard of that one and no others.

I want to know what that red brick or dirt actually was and why is made him sick. I want to know what happened to his sister and did his parents know of his abilities. I want a second book!!!!

Library Haul #17

Short and sweet book haul. No movies this week since I want to focus on getting more things done before the new year, so we can focus on new things entirely for the rest of the year, and do more crafts and all that good crap. This is not going to be a very long post with a lot of explaining on my part because these are Christmas books and I have no idea what they could possibly have to say about that. I mean this holiday is pretty self explanatory. Now haul time>>>>>>

1. O Christmas Tree
I have never read this book. It must be based in a different country because the kids in the picture are wearing shorts and dresses. Or they live in the south because the other day, I was wearing a tank top and flip flops outside because it was in the high 70's.

2. Christmas
Just another Christmas book

3. Christmas
I wonder if this book focuses on the reindeer, since it has Rudolph pictured helping pull the sleigh.

4. Christmas Tree
This is a little board book, so I know it's going to be all about the tree and decor.

So there is this week's haul. Short and simple. I am also going to be reading some of our Christmas books as well.

The Wanderers

(Source: The Wanderers goodreads page)

I started reading this book right after I finished Particle Man. The two books are in no way connected.) My review for this will be up on Sunday. I got this ARC for an honest review from the author Jessica Miller.
