Coloring Book Update 3

Time for another coloring book update. I thought and planned on getting a lot done during the summer and was planning to have this post up TWO weeks ago, but kept having to postpone it because I didn't want to post what I am about to post.

Cayce and I have not gotten our challenge pages done. We have them started, but we just have other stuff needing our attention and the coloring has been pushed to the side.

So I am going to be showing you all our progress so far.

Cayce:

Me:

Whoever gets done with their page first wins the challenge. I am hoping that we will have these pages done and one or two more done before my next update, but I am not sure.

Tiger Lily of Bangkok Review

This is another SwoonReads  manuscript that I completed last. I enjoyed this story so much.

It's about a woman named Lily. Her story starts off about her childhood and how she was sexually abused my a family friend. She got her revenge during one of the acts and her family was pitied ever since.

The rest of the story takes place in Bangkok. She is living in her own apartment and attending a university to become a doctor. She makes her money by having 4 boyfriends. She lies all about her identity for each one. She doesn't tell them anything about herself.

Along the way, we find out that there are murders happening and the killer is being called the Tiger Lily of Bangkok. We find out that the victims are males who are child abusers. She hates child abusers with a passion.

I don't want to go into much detail and give the whole story away. I was engrossed into this story and read it in one sitting. I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel.

Cinderella Vs. Prince Charming Review

I got to a SwoonReads manuscript this month. It was called Cinderella vs Prince Charming and it was OK.
(Source: Cinderella vs. Prince Charming Goodreads Page)

I was excited to read this book. It's about this girl named Valerie and a prince named Darren. Valerie lives in the real world while Darren is a prince from fairy tale land. He has come to find his princess. Valerie is in a nightclub with her friends when she gets the feeling of someone looking for her. Darren is getting impatient and wants to find his princess and take her back to his homeland immediately.

He doesn't know what she looks like so they start to play this game. If he can't figure out who she is in a certain time frame, he has to stop his search and go back home. He throws a ball, knowing that she won't show up and it will be easier to find her. She goes with her friends and ends up outing herself to save his life.

He ends up stalking her and agreeing for her to finish her school and graduate before he takes her back to his homeland. They argue over everything and she over re-acts and it's kind of annoying. She threatens to punch him in the nuts at every touch he makes and he is so egotistical and arrogant.

At the end, she comes to a major decision and then cliffhanger... I gave this book a 2 out of 5 stars. The characters weren't that developed and it jumped around in time differences a lot. If this gets picked up by a publisher one day, I hope it gets a semi re-write and major editing.

Trip to Six Flags

Last Wednesday, we took our trip to Six Flags over Georgia. The girls participate in a reading program during the school year that rewards them free tickets to Six Flags. Since we live right over from Georgia, the Atlanta location is our spot. So, back in May, the girls and I received our free tickets. The only thing that sucked was that Cayce didn't get a ticket. So all throughout the month of June, I used Ibotta and got enough money from rebates to purchase his ticket and a parking pass. It was over 80 bucks.

That morning we hit the road and made the 4 hour drive into Atlanta. We of course, stopped at the first rest stop to let the kids eat some more breakfast and to use restrooms and play some Pokemon GO. We also had a little photo shoot before we left. The pictures are hella cute.

haha.. one of the many that were around that rest stop

We got back on the road after about a 30 minute stop, and beat the lunch traffic. We did get into some traffic at the Atlanta Airport exit, but that is to be expected. We ended up getting to Six Flags a little after 12 and we immediately started sweltering. It was hot. The rides were long, and we did a good bit of walking before riding our first ride. The ride was a Harley Quinn Spinner. Cayce rode that with Samantha and Ariana.

We didn't take that many pictures inside the park. After we left the Harley Quinn ride, we headed straight for the water park and that was a long walk. We kept stopping and reading the map. We eventually made it to the water park and found some empty seats. We immediately stripped the girls down to their bathing suits and headed to the water. I didn't wear my suit under my clothing, so I sat right down in the water in my shorts and shirt and it was heavenly. The area where we were playing at was called the Calypso Bay Wave Pool. It made some awesome and intense waves. Cayce then took Samantha on a big water slide.. that I am still surprised that she was able to get on. That water slide was called the Tsunami Surge. She enjoyed that while Addy, Airy and I stayed in the wave pool and beating the heat.

After we left the wave pool after they kicked everyone out for inspection, we went to go ride some more rides. Before we got to the water park, Cayce stopped at their newest roller coaster called the Blue Hawk. Well, when we left the water park soaking weat and still beating the heat, Cayce went and rode it. He came back super excited and took Samantha on it. The Blue Hawk is now Samantha's 1st ever Roller Coaster ride.
sitting on the bench in front of the Blue Hawk waiting for Cayce to get done with his ride

After the ride, we went and tried to get Cayce something to eat because he was starting to get sick and over heated. While he was doing that, the girls and I sat down and watched this little western shenanigans side show and it was hilarious. It brought some laughs and it was a great end to our day. We did have some trouble getting back to the car, because Cayce had to stop to get sick or my blisters were getting blisters, but we made it and got some cold water from our cooler and the girls got their sandwiches and chips for their meal on the way home.

We are definitely planning on going back next year. We are also going to go with one of my best friends who loves an hour away from Six Flags and would have gone with us if she knew we were coming. I was kicking myself in the butt for that. But we had a long drive back home. We spent a good 5 hours in the park and left at rush hour traffic. It wasn't that bad like everyone makes it out to be. It took us 5 hours to get home because we made multiple stops at gas stations for gas and restrooms.

The girls had fun. We all got burnt. We all got some good exercise.

The Harlequin Review

Time for another book review!!! The Harlequin is the 15th installment in the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton and I really enjoyed this one. It was suspenseful and it caught my attention from the very beginning.

This story starts off with Anita and Nathaniel going on a date to celebrate their "almost-anniversary". When Anita makes a trip to the bathroom, she sees a white box with her name on it. She thinks it's from Nathaniel and opens it to reveal a white mask. She does to ask him about it and he doesn't know anything about it. She then calls Jean- Claude and he becomes terrified.

I am not going to describe what the mask means, just that they are used as symbols for the vampire council's military and they are feared by every vampire and they fear only one vampire and that is the mother of all darkness.

The local lion group gets a new Rex after they betray Jean- Claude and don't help when the vampires, were-wolves, were-rats and were-leopards need them most. Haven becomes the new Rex and also becomes the lion to Anita's lioness. Richard also becomes stubborn and when Anita's wolf tries to break free, he wants he to change into a wolf so they can finally be together, just them, but it ends up putting all them near death.

Like I said, I really enjoyed this one and this is my 2nd favorite after Obsidian Butterfly.
