Catching Up

I finally feel 90% better. I have been catching up on emails, school planning and cleaning. The girls are almost better beside the runny noses. I have stopped there medicine intake because they are constantly wanting it and I feel that they are getting addicted to it.

Last night's shopping trip was fun. The girls got tired out and we got some much needed groceries for Thanksgiving next week and lunches. We went around and picked some things out that we would like to have for Christmas and I picked out a cute little ornament for my mama.

I do have some more catching up plans for the weekend. We are hoping to get out and clean the yard this weekend. I'm tired of looking at all the leaves in my yard. I want to finish painting the front porch. I want to get a wreath for our front door. I want to get our living room ready to put up the Christmas tree and décor.

A few days ago, Cayce was given a box of shoes for the girls and I have to go throw them and see which one's fit who, and I have to find some shoes for Adalyn. I have to go throw clothes and get bigger clothes out for Addy.

On Thanksgiving day, one of the things we will be doing is going through toys and pass some down to Addy and throw away broken ones. I have to get a lot done this weekend and on Thanksgiving.

Last Night's Date Night

We finally got to eat dinner together. It wasn't really a date night, because Cayce got home late from picking up some milk, and he spent some time with the kids before he put them down for the night.

It was the season finale of Ghost Mine last night, and I was excited. The thing that made it better was he watched most of it with me and we ate together. During the commercials, we talked and it was really nice. We couldn't plan our weekend out because we have to wait until Cayce gets his schedule for the store. We did talk about what we are going to do on Thanksgiving day.

I showed him the stuff I printed up for Samantha and Ariana to do for that day, and how he can participate with them. We have to buy a new drop cord for our leaf blower, we talked about the weather for the weekend and next week.

Tonight, we are planning on going to Wal-Mart for a little outing when he gets off work. It will be a much needed trip for the girls to just get out the house and be someplace different for a few hours.

Ariana's Week Off

Ariana is enjoying her week off from school but is recovering from being sick, so she is playing some with Samantha and Adalyn, but not a whole lot because I don't want her to spread what she still has and they all go down hill again.

I'm hoping this weekend that they will be 100% better, and take them to a park, and do some geocaching.

A few years ago, I got Sammy a learn to read kit with dvd's and picture books, and I will be starting to do those again this weekend and start doing those everyday with all 3 girls.

I'm also planning some trips to take after the week of Thanksgiving, and do a possible nature walk, scavenger hunts, geocaching.

Prep. Curriculum: Week 5 (Ariana)

This is the last week of Ariana's first set of lessons. I was going to do 4 weeks at a time, then give her a week break, but decided not to at the last minute. She learned about lighthouses this week, and learned that her granny LOVES lighthouses. Also, she only did 3 out of 5 days of school this week.

Monday:
I couldn't find any songs on lighthouses, so I chose one of my favorite songs on my favorite movie Ladder 49. The song is called Shine Your Light.

Tuesday:
Her shape today was octagon. She said it the cutest way, and every time I asked her to say it again, she got mad and eventually stopped for a while. I didn't take any pictures.

Wednesday:
Great granny's funeral.

Thursday:

She drew the diamonds on the snake all by herself. I was so proud.

Friday:
On Friday morning, I planned on doing school with Ariana because it seemed like she wasn't going to get sick. I decided to give her a nap and then do it after. Well, that was a mistake because I ended up having to wake her up because she was sleeping so long and when I went into her room, I could tell that she had gotten the sickness as well. It was warm in her room, and she was wrapped in her blanket. She was sweaty. So we still have to do her Friday work.

Letter Curriculum: Week 26

Samantha now knows the letter U. This week of school, she only had 3 days of school because Wednesday was my great granny's funeral and on Friday, we were all sick, and couldn't talk. It was a pathetic week, but she got all of her work done.

Monday:
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures because during school, I was doing other housework to not have so much to do on Tuesday or Wednesday. She listened to the unbirthday song and under the sea. I knew she would love the Under the Sea song because the girls are super into the little mermaid now.

Tuesday:

Wednesday:
I planned on doing school with her, but the funeral took longer than expected and we had to go from Red Bank to Columbia to the grave site and that was a 45 minute drive with traffic and stoplights. Yes, there were cops, but they didn't do their jobs properly. Anyways, we ended up getting back home around 4:00pm and Cayce had to head straight to work, and the girls were exhausted. That's when our throats started getting itchy and the wind was horrible. I had to cook supper, and by the time I sat down, it was 7:00pm and we were dead tired.

Thursday:
We doubled up today and her lesson took almost 2 hours, and it was ENJOYABLE, for both of us.

since we didn't have a math lesson this week for the letter U, I decided we should review shapes. At the beginning of the week, I was going to review number 1-25 as well over the weekend, but me being able to do this post right now and hold my head up and becoming exhausted every time I move to get comfortable, I will be doing it next week, on top of next week's math lesson.

Friday:
We all are sick. Sammy was complaining of a sore throat on Sunday and she became sick on Thursday. My throat is very sore and I want to rip my nose off my face. The only one not sick is Cayce and he just took all three kids to the doctor. So we will be finishing our work either today or tomorrow.

Thanksgiving Menu Plans

Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away, and Cayce and I have started our menu planning for Thanksgiving. We started planning our Thanksgivings out the year we moved into our home. Which, by the way, we will be living in this house for 2 years on Black Friday. It doesn't feel like 2 years, and every other place we lived we stayed at for a year and a half or 2 years, and it's a weird feeling knowing that we are going to be here for the rest of our lives, but hopefully, we will be getting a bigger house put on this land and trade this one in. Anyways, back to the menu.

We will be having:

Herb Roasted Turkey
Cayce's Mac & Cheese
Deviled Eggs
Green Bean Casserole
Blessing Loaf
Pecan Pie
Sweet Potato Pie
