Losing My Cat// Sunday Post #62

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly from
The Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I planned on this post being about my excitement of my birthday coming up on Thursday the 21st. I will be 33, but two days ago at 9am, my 11 year old cat Missy passed away. My 14 year old daughter is devastated because Missy stayed in her room. Sammy woke me saying that Missy was struggling to breathe and everytime she moved that she would meow. The past 5 months she had declined in health rapidly and the past few weeks she had stopped eating and drinking.

I kind of knew that her time was coming because on Wednesday, she walked around the house and actually ate food. Thursday morning, she didn't eat and it looked like she didn't know where she was and just shaking her head.

Her passing has really put the birthday mood and Christmas mood on the back burner and I honestly can't wait until this horrible month is over. I know that she is in a better place and not hurting anymore and my daughter and I have had that confirmation because we have already had dreams of Missy running around outside and running towards us and she is healthy and fluffy and wearing her flea collar.

I honestly don't know what else to say. I am working, reading, spending time with my other 3 cats and 2 dogs, trying to keep my kids happy, and grieving with my husband. My husband and I have had pets before Missy, but she is the first that we have had to properly bury.

Losing a pet SUCKS!

  7. I'm so so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet really does suck. We lost one of our dogs in March tragically to a sudden cancer and last night when we were putting ornaments on the tree, I bawled when his went on it. She was a beautiful cat and I'm sure she had the best life ever with you guys!
