Missy's Surgery

Today was Missy's surgery day. We had to have her at the humane society at 7:15 to get checked in and prepped. We woke up at 5:30, and Cayce got ready and I had to hold and keep Widow calm and to keep her from following Cayce and Missy.

Cayce took these pictures of her this morning before she got checked in.
She was done with her surgery right when Cayce clocked in at work, and he went and got her at 3:30.
Widow was so happy to see that Missy was alright and back home. Now she is in her carrier and sleeping. I'm hoping that she isn't in any pain because we couldn't afford pain medication but I paid for her rabies and distemper today.

Now we have to help her heal and get Widow ready to have her surgery.

Unexpected News

This morning around 7:30, Cayce and I woke up to a text message from his aunt, saying that his grandfather has stage 4 brain cancer and that he will be in the hospital for the next 4 months. It hit Cayce so hard and I haven't seen him cry in months. He also learned that his aunt has stage 4 cancer in her kidney, small intestines, lungs, and it's in her bloodstream. It brought back so many memories for me because when I was 14, I lost my grandpa to lung cancer a few months after they found it. It's also really hard to deal with because my great grandmother is have heart problems and my great aunt had a stint put in the other day because she had a 99% blockage.

It changed our whole day. Cayce went and spent some time with his aunt and grandpa and I stayed home with the girls because they wouldnt understand what their great grandpa is going through at the hospital.

I wish that the girls got to spend some more time with him, and wish that they met my grandpa.

But on a better note today, we got the front yard cleared. Most of the roots and trees have been knocked down and we got a bigger hole dug in the backyard, so we can start burning the debris.

I'm hoping for a better day tomorrow, and that we don't get anymore bad news.

Today's Plans

We had alot of things planned today. We were supposed to have someone come out and clean off the trees in our yard. The guy was supposed to come out yesterday, but bumped it too today and now he hasn't been out because his backhoe is messed up. Cayce put together our new industrial shelf last night for our pantry. We have so much more room now and we can step in there.

This weekend we are going to Once Upon a Child to trade in Addy's baby gear and get Sammy some bigger clothes. We are also going to go to Wal-mart on Saturday.

Well, I have to go get my girls up from their naps.

Prep. Curriculum: Week 23

Last week's theme was about snow. It was ironic because it actually snowed the day before the school week started. On Monday, she did coloring pages of a snowman.

On Tuesday, we did a hexagon worksheet. If she has to do another shape with a gon at the end, i'm gonna flip out. Not really, but just saying.
On Wednesday, she had the day off. On Thursday, she did the letter W.

She loved working on out new table. On Friday, I wanted Cayce to do school with Sammy, but we had the power outage. On Saturday, Cayce decided not to help, so they ended up doing the number 23 on Sunday.

Great Weekend

I had a great weekend. On Friday night, we had a wrench thrown into our plans. While Cayce was cooking dinner and I was in the shower, our power went out. We thought it was the whole neighborhood, but it was only our house. So, we went outside looking at the box outside and the meter wasn't running. We took a look at our bill and it wasn't due yet. We called our power company and reported it. We ended up feeding Sammy and Ariana cereal for supper because it was close to 8:00, and they needed to get in bed. Around 8:45, workers came and said that a fuse snapped, and they had to replace it.

Saturday was a day of rest and relaxation. We cleaned and stayed home. Cayce ended up going to my favorite chinese place and got dinner, and he got me some roses. We watched Schindler's List and ate some Oreos and drank our beer. The whole time we watched the movie, my heart was breaking for the people that had to go through that. It's cray how your whole perspective on things change when you have children of your own.

Sunday, we stayed home till about 3:00. We went shopping at the dollar general and family dollar and kmart. Cayce and I discussed if I should give Samantha this week off or stick to my schedule and do this week and give her next week off, according to my schedule. I have decided to give her this week off because I don't have any ink for my printer. We are going to Kmart again tomorrow because I found some ink and paper. We are also going to go to Hobby Lobby. I'm going to get Cayce an art set so he can start drawing again.

I have alot of work to do today. I'll be posting last week's school later.

New Kitchen Table

We got a brand new kitchen table today from K-mart. Our last two tables have been hand me downs, so today was really exciting. I paid 400 dollars. We had my dad go with us, so we could put it in the back of his truck. When we got to the store and went and seen the display table still out, Cayce went and looked for someone to help us. The associate he found, I knew right away, I was going to have a problem with him. As soon as that guy walked off to go check, we asked another person, WHO worked in that department to go look. The first person we asked came back and said they had no more in stock. I was iritated by then and asked why they still had the display table out if they didn't have any in stock. Then we asked him if they had another table in the back, and then the 2nd person came out and told us that the table we wanted was in stock and came on the truck yesterday. I was so relieved.

The first associate we dealt with had the nerve to tell us after we found out that it was in stock said that it was on layaway, and that she was wrong. By that time, two guys from the back was already rolling it out for us, and the 1st associate walked away.

I swear, some people just don't take the time to look and research things especially when it comes to their JOBS! But, anyways, here is some pictures of it in the house and with our new Easter tablecloth and the kids Dora placemats.

Cayce went back to work today, and it went by qucikly for me. He got his paycheck tonight and I had to refigure all of our payments, because he didn't make enough to cover some major bills. But everything is good now, and all sorted out.

Productive Day

Writing this 2nd post today has made my day very productive. There has been so much done today. The house being inspected and sprayed. Cayce getting his building fixed up a little. Samantha's new car seat in the car. But there is still so much to be done.

Tomorrow's to do list is:
  • get a new kitchen table
  • get a price check on ink and printer paper
  • sort baby clothes
  • type recipes that i have already made
All that along with housework, taking care of the kids, homeschooling samantha, and keeping myself sane.

Plans for tonight is to finish dishes, put Cayce's pants away, give the girls a bath and put them to bed. A new episode of The Americans comes on tongiht, and Cayce and I watch it every Wednesday. It's so good.
