School Week 32 Recap

It is the last week before our spring break and I am so sick. The pollen has been so bad this week and it hit Cayce and I hard. I am typing this all up on the same day instead of everyday like I usually do because this week just plain sucked. I got my music on to motivate me to finish this in a timely manner ( before midnight).

Monday: Just to put this out there now, that every morning this week, I seriously thought about postponing the day, but then I thought of next week and was like no. They did a bunch of spring coloring sheets since Sunday was the first day of Spring.

After the coloring pages, Sammy did quiet time first, while Ariana did some domino math. After Sammy got done with her quiet time, she did computer work and Ariana did her quiet time.

To end the day, I was feeling kind of crappy and I took a little rest and they watched youtube videos on Spring.

Tuesday: Today was horrible. I thought it would be ok, and I just crashed halfway through the day. I only took one picture. They did morning work and quiet time. I think me doing so much during their quiet time, took all my energy and made me so delirious. After quiet time, I had enough of a voice to read library book and then I lost it.

After reading, they played Hi-Ho Cherry-O! I ended up giving them a break, so I could take a nap. I slept for 3 hours and I woke up feeling even more horrible before I went to sleep. We ended the day with baking cookies.

Wednesday: I woke up this morning with no voice, but we pushed through because Samantha did the talking for me. She knew exactly what to do and I got to rest my voice. I had to think about doing school today and I went back and forth for an hour and a half. But we ended up doing school. Morning work and quiet time together. After quiet time, Ariana did more domino math and Samantha did a color by sight word Easter page.

The day before, the girls were given Easter gifts by a former family friend. Samantha got new LEGOS, so she put those together for school. She did so well, and didn't ask for any help. Ariana did more handwriting practice and she is getting so good.

She got a LEGO and friends set. 

After, Ariana got through with her words, she did so many workbook pages on transitional math. She did those for the rest of the day. After Samantha finished doing all the LEGOS, she did computer work to end the day.

Thursday: Today we made a chalkboard wall in our home. I am always complaining about not having enough room to write down things for school, but today, that all changed. I will have a separate post all about it up next week. I am going to show a before and during picture in this post.

They also went to the hardware store to pick out a color for the border. They chose a very pretty color, and it definitely represents out team colors. When they were letting the first half dry, they did quiet time. They went to the library today as well, to turn in books and have a little book fest. I ended their day after they left the library, but they also had a Lowe's workshop they participated in, and they also got the last workshop kit that they missed.

Friday: We had a very late start to the day because Cayce and I were just not having it and we were moody with each other. They did morning work and then worked on our little spring banner.

I was in a bad mood, so during quiet time, Cayce was playing his playstation and I was doing school work, reading my own book and going back and forth with helping the girls with words and trying to get Addy to say some words. Cayce was just being in the way and not doing anything to help me. To end the day, we finished watching some Tinga Tinga Tales episodes on Youtube and then they did some Easter coloring pages. Addy even did an Easter coloring page.

So there is this week's recap. I am so excited about this weekend and next week.  

Bloody Bones

Book review time. This is the 5th book in the Anita Blake series. It took me longer than I wanted to read this book, because that week was just hectic and so busy, that I couldn't sit down to read it, and when I did, it was a few pages at a time. Also, this isn't one of my favorite ones because it only includes Richard at the beginning and it is really Jean-Claude heavy, I still gave it a 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.

This book also introduces a new mystical creature. The fey or fairies. The title of the book is of a bar and grill owned by the Bouvier family, who are fey. They are in a legal battle with a company that wants a good amount of property and it is a mass graveyard. The one thing that the Bouvier are keeping a secret is, is that they are the guardian of a monster called Rawhead and Bloody Bones. It's folklore that it eats bad children and it's immortal.

The werewolves take a backseat in this novel and it's more vampire centered. All of this is taking place outside of St. Louis. While Anita is working on her job, she gets a call from Dolph and tells her that there has been a murder by vampire near her. She goes and checks it out and ultimately needs Jean-Claude's help.

They meet the master of the city Seraphina and her little minions and she causes havoc and tries to torture them and all that crap. I'm not going to give much away. Basically at the end, the construction company gets the property they want and Anita is being threatened to get sued.

Clothing Haul

I am not a clothes person. I buy new clothes for myself probably once a year. That's how I was raised. We didn't have the money to buy clothes every weekend. I buy clothes for my kids when I see something that I like and they love. I bought me some clothes the other night, that I just adore. So ready for a first time clothing haul???

I had to get this top. I always love white noodle shirts.

these I got with Cayce in mind. He loves the lace look, and I am not a lace fan, but these caught me.

These shorts have lace going down the side and they are grey and they go perfect with the next shirt.

I paired this shirt with the grey lace shorts and it looked good. It is Cayce approved

I just got my C9 sports bra from Target and I will be wearing this over it. It is a pretty mint color

While I was shopping, Cayce was making these awful jokes and then I spotted this and I had to have it. I love graphic tees like this.

This little nightie is my favorite because Cayce LOVES it. Its stretchy and comfortable. It fits perfect.

I also bought some other pieces but those are not going to be put on here because they are intimates. 

Library Haul #30

1. Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi

This was the first Star Wars movie that we got the fastest, after I requested it.

2. NCIS: Season 4

We took our little break from NCIS, and watched some other movies, and now we are probably going to watch a couple more seasons and then take another break.

3. Sabrina the Teenage Witch

I loved watching this show growing up and Cayce and I decided to let the girls watch it because it was such an amazing and funny show. And we both know that the girls will LOVE Salem.

I will read this to them, but we are not going to talk to much about it, only if they ask more about it.

This is this week's haul. There will be no haul next week because that is our Spring Break.

This was a great freebie week. It was also amazing that some of my packages finally came in that I have been waiting for, so this week kind of felt like a Spring Christmas. I might make that a thing.

School Week 31 Recap

We had a lot of late starts this week. I was just over this week right from the beginning. I am ready for spring break. I need to plan the rest of this year and get all my records in order. I have already paid next year's school expenses, so I am set on that. Sammy will be going to 2nd grade and Ariana will be going into 1st. Adalyn will be waiting another year. Right now we are just going to focus on her speech and everything else.

Monday: Morning work and quiet time for the beginning of the day. For most of the day, Samantha did a page in her new word search book. She is 50/59 on it. She likes it, but then she has a it and doesn't want to do it anymore when she can't find a word. While Sammy was doing that, Ariana did about 5 days worth of computer work.

One Airy was done with her computer work, she did more writing. Then Samantha finished her day with computer work. She only did a day's worth, but she had fun.

She is loving skip counting and do a dot pictures.

Tuesday: Today was not planned and I didn't mind it. I didn't take any pictures today. We did morning work and quiet time. We read library books and we just relaxed and watched the smurfs for school. They did have to summarize it for me after. To end the day, Ariana did more writing words and Sammy did another day of computer work.

Wednesday: I took pictures today!! As part of their school today, Cayce got them to help him put together his new bathroom cabinet.

When they were finished with that, they had quiet time and Samantha read out loud. To finish the day, Sammy did word search and Airy did more computer work.

Thursday: HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY! We had to catch up and watch the movies that I had requested because they are due back tomorrow. So I made it a movie day. They watched a short video on St. Patrick's day, and then they watched two Easter movies. They watched Alvin and the Chipmunks: Easter collection. That video had a St. Patrick's day episode. After that DVD was done, I printed them off coloring packets that had St. Patrick's day pictures.

To end the day, they watched another Easter movie, called the Easter Egg Adventure. All next week, we are going to be doing Easter lessons.

Friday: It was a good productive day for the girls. We got some stuff done and Ariana started doing domino math today and LOVED it. But first, as usual, it was morning work and quiet time. They worked with dominoes for a good half a hour and they didn't play with them like they usually do, they tried any possible way to get every side to touch each other. They made it a game. It was too cute.

Samantha worked on her sight words again and She did 3 days worth of computer work. Ariana did so many workbook pages in transitional math. She flew right through them and I was happy that we got those out of the way so quickly. She ended her day with writing words and the sentence, My birthday is October 10.

I am so ready for next week, but I know it will go so fast and so slow at the same time. I have so much planned for next week, but yet we are so ready for spring break and our little trips that we have planned.
