Polyvore Outfit #9

When I was in high school, I was in JROTC. I spent 3 years in it and I enjoyed every minute of it. I didn't do it my senior year of high school because my classes that year turned to year long classes and even though I loved it, I was not about that 180 day life of ROTC. I never went to the military balls because I just didn't want to go. But I did pick out a dress each year that my mom said she would buy me, but I refused each year. So, I made a military ball set. I love it and the dress in this set is the same colors for all three dresses that I picked out.

  1. Halston Heritage One-shoulder satin gown
  2. Casadei 'Venice' pumps
  3. EWA 18ct White Gold Oval Diamond Cluster Ring
  4. Blue Nile Love Knot Diamond Earrings
  5. Red Carpet Hair From All Angles EMMA WATSON

Ariana's Graduation!!!

Today was Ariana's graduation day. She is now officially a first grader!!!!! We have been waiting a long week for this day and it is finally done and over with. They had a lot more graduates this year, and it was better this year.

This year it was at an earlier time in the middle of the afternoon, that part I didn't like so much, but I understood it because there were more seniors graduating this year and the after parties right after.  This year the kindergarten graduates had to be in white, but I only had to buy her cap and tassel.

Happy kid.

When we got there, we received instructions on what was going to happen and where Ariana was going to be. My mom and dad showed up a few minutes before it started.
Ariana was the leader that started off the ceremony. It was so cute to see her go up there first.  And her slide show made Cayce cry....lol.

While Ariana was waiting in the back by herself with the other graduates, we had a picture session. I was so surprised that she didn't freak out and want to be with us. She was a big girl.

I didn't take many pictures during the ceremony because I was a proud mommy and my phone completely died.

After it was all done, we went outside and took a little family photo in front of my mom's new car.
The McLeod & Barden Family

Today was an awesome day. I was so happy. we have two years of homeschooling done and Addy will be starting her preschool curriculum this summer to get ready for August 2017, which will be her kindergarten year.

Home Depot Workshop

Every month on the first Saturday, Home Depot has their kids workshops. This month, it was held on the 7th and it was Angry Birds. The girls have never watched or played Angry Birds. The only thing they have seen is the previews for the movie.

They got to be Angry Bird birdhouses. I didn't remember what the craft was before they left and when they got home, I was puzzled. They are weird shaped birdhouses, but they loved it.

Cayce didn't take many pictures because we have been having problems with our Dropbox and I didn't want to have to download many pictures to my computer from the Dropbox website.

Also, one thing that bothered me was that this was Samantha's 10th workshop and she didn't get her "10th Workshop" star pin for her apron. I wondered if she will get it next time, or if Cayce has to ask.

Obsidian Butterfly Review

Now that I think about it, this is my favorite of the series so far. I also now know that I didn't pay attention to detail when i read it back in high school because I missed A LOT!!!
My reading experience this time wasn't that great because every time I turned the page, I was afraid the book was going to fall apart in my hands. This copy has not been shown any love whatsoever. Anyways, this story didn't have Jean-Claude or Richard in it. They were mentioned, but no trace. It had Anita's bad ass "friend" Edward aka Ted.

Edward has called Anita in for a favor and she has to owe to it because she did kill his backup. Edward has flown her out to New Mexico and is in Ted mode right from the start because he has a lady in his life and this lady is Donna and she has kids. Donna is one of those women who is nice to you, but hesitant of you and then a show-off with jealousy.

Anita knows nothing of Edwards personal life. The case they work has a monster tearing flesh off people and keeping them "alive" and then killing others. Anita is quickly hated by the head of the case and calls her a witch and all this and that.

Now the title of this story is not of a place, but of a person. The master vampire thinks of herself has a goddess and calls herself Obsidian Butterfly. She also owns a club and her performers who are lycanthropes cut themselves with obsidian blades. Basically, throughout the entire story, they have to find a monster, keep the "alive" people in the hospital to keep from escaping, Anita baiting one of Edwards other back-ups Olaf who rapes women and hates women with a passion. Then at the end, having to rescue Donna's kids that were kidnapped, raped and tortured.

Also, Anita has cut ties with the werewolves, has stayed away from Jean-Claude and Richard for over 6 months, and has screwed up their power bases and stayed away from her best friend Ronnie because Ronnie doesn't approve of Anita's relationship with Jean-Claude.

This was a welcome relief from the Jean-Claude and Richard mess. We got to learn more about Edward and how he is wanting a life he know he can never have if he stays in the assassinating business.

Brett Young - Sleep Without You

This must be a new artist because he is simply amazing. This song has been on repeat since I first heard it. I noticed it on Spotify, and fell in love and had to find the video. LOVED IT.  He is easy on the eyes and it made me think of one of my best friends because he sounds just like this when he sings.

I haven't listened to the rest of his songs yet because I have been stuck on this one.  I mean he is just too damn gorgeous in that blue button up.

Romeo and What's Her Name Review

I read this book back in March. I know that I need to catch up on my reviews, and I am slowly working on it. I read this on SwoonReads. It was one of those books that I read in a night while the girls were asleep and Cayce was hanging out with Budd.

I wasn't going to read this book at first because it was a contemporary and I am not that much a fan for contemporary novels. Well, a couple days later after I skipped past it the first time, I got an email to vote for the cover. This is not the cover I voted for, but since I voted, I thought why the hell not. This novel was LOL funny.

It's about a high schooler named Emily who volunteers to be her school plays understudy. She doesn't really want the job, but she does it to be closer to her crush.. the guy who is playing Romeo. The chick who is playing Juliet is a major bitch and one of those girls that I wanted to punch in the face in high school. She is a drama queen and always faking illnesses for attention.. well, this time she really does get sick and has to be hospitalized.

Emily ends up becoming Juliet a day before the play and she doesn't know the lines. So the night of the play, she ends up butchering everything and coming up with hilarious lines that her classmates end up saying to her every time she is near.

Eventually, she gets closer to Wes and at the end Juliet gets her Romeo. This story had the right amount of comedy and sadness and cringe worthy moments. The only thing I don't like about it, is the cover because it does not do it justice.
