Library Haul #2

Here is our library haul for next week. Our first week of school has been amazing so far and today is the last day for the week and we had a few tears from Ariana but we will get it together. Now onto the haul>>>>>>>

1. Where The Wild Things Are (DVD)

This is another movie that I have been wanting to see for while. Now ya'll know how I am about book to movie adaptions..... well I am very biased on this one....lol. I am in love with the ballet of this book. When I was in Elementary school, it seemed like every year we would go to the Koger Center and see this ballet. I loved it, and after seeing the movie, I still rank ballet first and book second with movie coming in last.

2. Where The Wild Things Are (Book)

This will always be one of my favorite books from my childhood and I hope that one day, my girls will love it just as much as I do.

3. Dancing in the Wings

This was a cute story. It was also hilarious because of the bickering between the brother and sister. It brought back so many memories of my brother and I growing up. Ariana loved this book the most because she loves to dance.

4. Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock

This book was the number 1 book of the week with Sammy and Airy. They loved the spider's antics and me yelling BOOM at the right parts. It was a good story and very enjoyable.

5. Sebastian's Roller Skates

This was the cutest book I have read in a while. I loved how the main character was shy and I love shy characters. I used to be shy and most of my friends were outgoing and they always brought out everything in me. I have a soft side for shy people and Sebastian really touched my heart and I loved how he didn't give up trying to roller skate and when he perfected that, his character grew. It was really swoon worthy at the end when he asked his cute little crush out. I literally swooned over a children's book....WTH....lol. It was so cute.

6. Smallville Season 1

This is one of Cayce's favorite TV shows. He has been trying to get me to watch this for as long as I can remember and I finally said what the hell, let's watch it. This decision was made after we sent our DirecTV receivers back. So, I am giving it a shot and if I like it enough, then Cayce will probably get a big head and say HA!

First Day of School

We have been done with our first day of school for about 30 minutes now, might have been longer when I finally get this up, but it has been a fun but hectic day. We started at 10:30am. I had made up my mind that we would not be starting any earlier than that this year and I would not start after 11:00 unless there was an emergency.

Today was so fun for both girls because their excitement was contagious. I was laughing and having fun right along with them. It was also hectic because I tried to get them both to do different things at the same time. Nope, I found out when we finished for the day, that I couldn't keep doing the same thing for the rest of the year. I am physically and mentally exhausted.

I am sending Cayce to take Sammy and Airy to Wendy's and redeem their free frosty's that they got for summer reading. It is their treat for completing first day of our new school year.

They enjoyed their little desserts. After they got home, then we had supper. They were very quiet after supper and they were tired. Too tired to run around and be loud like they usually are. So we put them to bed and after, I fell onto my bed and didn't want to get up. Cayce also picked me up a treat too while they were out. It was a Good job today mama treat. So funny... and so good.

So here's to a great 2015-2016 school year!!!

Dark World Review

You guys, I was so excited to read this book. Cayce and the girls knew how anxious I was to read it. It was a big disappointment. It was not what I expected at all. I wanted it to be like Nick's in a way and have him tell his experiences and why he got into the paranormal and he only gives a snippet of that in the whole book and the rest is like a freaking science textbook. I was in a haze most of the book and some of the chapters were dragging with scientific terms and it was all crap.

If I wanted to read about the sciency part of the paranormal like the gadgets and technology they use while investigating, I would have researched it myself. Two years of waiting on this book and I was let down. Now the parts where he talked about his experiences, I enjoyed a lot, but this book was a huge letdown for me and I am no very hesitant about his new book. I will give it a try but I will not be buying it. I will be going to the library first to check it out and if I enjoy it, then I will buy it.

Sorry Zak, for this bad review but it's truth. You are a great investigator, but nope.

Library Haul #1

I came up with this idea to start doing library hauls because I have been watching YouTube videos of all types of hauls. It's crazy. I also want to do it because I know my girls will be reading these posts in the future and I want them to see what they read and watched. So, here we go>>>>>>>

1. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good,Very Bad Day (DVD)

I have been wanting to see this movie for a while and thought it would be a great watch for the kids since we are going to be reading the book next week for our first week of school. The ending to this movie was the best part with the Australian cowboys. That's all I am saying on that....lol. I am going to be trying to get a DVD every haul so we have something new and fun to watch.

2. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good,Very Bad Day (Book)

Right after I read this book to the girls, They started comparing the movie and book and Cayce gave me a hard side eye. They got it from me... what can I say.. sorry? Nope, not sorry one bit, because that is what I wanted.

3. Clifford Goes To School

I thought this would be a cute little book for Ariana to get into, since she was starting her first official year of school. It worked.

4.  A Picture Book of Helen Keller

This was a book that was recommended for Ariana on that website that was giving me such a hard time. I don't know if I will be using that site this year. I may go on it throughout the year and print stuff off for next year to be ahead. I don't know. But this book was really informative and cute. Before this book, I had only heard the name Helen Keller and nothing else.

5. The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Sometimes I wish they would just have one original version and stick to it. But like I thought they would the girls loved it. I knew they would since I was acting out what I was reading. Yelling and roaring and stomping. You see the three goats on the cover, well, to make things more interesting for the girls, I named the little one Addy. The middle one Airy and the big one Sammy. They paid attention after that and they wanted to read it multiple times a day.

Where there is my first library haul of the school year. I will be doing this every week, and the days I will do it on depends on when the books come in to the library.

GoodReads Book Giveaway

I was given a book off the website GoodReads. I use that site religiously to keep track off the books I have read, my to be read, and ones that I want to read eventually. I was notified by the publishers of the book, asking me if I would like a free copy of their book. I checked out the book to see if it was something that I would be interested in and sure enough, it was right up my alley. So, I messaged them back and the next thing I know I am getting a order confirmation telling me my delivery details.

To say that I was beyond excited is an understatement. The day of the delivery, I was hovering by the front door. The only thing I hate about the UPS where I live is that I don't get my packages from them until the end of the day which is usually between 7 and 8 PM. I never get FedEx delivery because they always give my packages to the post office.

Anyways, the woman that always comes from UPS drives like a bat out of hell, and we can hear her coming before we see her. Well, Cayce beat me to her and before he even got the package opened good, the UPS lady was gone in the dust...lol. HI HO SILVER!!!! The book is bigger than I expected and Cayce was surprised at the thickness of it. I read the back to him and the first question out of his mouth was "do you think it will be turned into a movie?".... ugh.... idiot...lol.

Here is my new book.

I can't wait to read this. If you want to know more about it, check it out on Goodreads and also find me and friend me on there.

Bye Guys!

1 Week Til The New School Year

It is less than a week till the new school year and to be honest, I am freaking TERRIFIED! I have been excited all summer, but now that it's getting close, I am getting scared. I still have to figure out how I am going to deal with Samantha and Ariana at the same time and still have time for Adalyn.

The way Cayce's schedule is at work right now, I have no idea how he is going to be able to help out. I have already figured the book hauls and library trips out. I admit that losing our DirecTV service is a blow that I was not expecting, but we will have to work around that.

The website I want to use this year, has been acting up and I haven't been able to get on it to schedule and plan and print like I need to, so I am having to find something else last minute along with the curriculum I used last year, which was Easy Peasy Homeschool. I loved it, and I can't wait to see how Sammy likes the First Grade portion.

I am going to be using the Little House Kindergarten Curriculum with Ariana and then the grades portion with Samantha. The only thing iffy with that is that the units for the grades aren't completed and I don't trust easily when people say they have things set to a schedule but are still working on them, because things can and will happen.

But here is my little rant. The girls are doing a countdown. I am getting extra time in with Adalyn because I know my time with her during the day will be drastically cut short. The next thing I will be working on is a schedule for us to try to go by the first week. I already have our start and end time figured, I know I will be starting by this time every morning. That is my goal.
