Review: Eleanor, Alice and the Roosevelt Ghosts by Dianne K Salerni

A quick middle grade historical fiction with paranormal elements. The story takes place in New York with the Roosevelt family. Our two main characters are Eleanor and Alice. Eleanor lives with her Grandma Hall and Alice has just been sent to live with their Aunt Bye and Uncle Will down the road. When she arrives, the Edison Ghost lamp erupts indicating that a ghost has just manifested in the house. The City diagnosticians claim it is a Friendly spirit and that they can keep inhabiting the house.

This is not the only ghost story that happens. We also learn about the family home that has been vacant for ten years because of a vengeful spirit that erupted when Alice was a baby. They learn who it is while searching for information on how to get rid of the friendly in Aunt Bye's house.

This book also goes into family relationships and how they married their cousins and running for President was mentioned with Theodore and Franklin.

  1. Great review! So happy to read you liked this one, I also really enjoyed it. Still kind of hoping for more books either with these characters or others, the way ghosts work is so interesting.
