Planting Our Goodluck Seed

2 weeks ago, I got mine and Cayce's anniversary present in the mail. I ordered a matching set of necklaces. They are puzzles pieces that stick together and it has a half of a heart on each piece. When Cayce and I started dating, he bought us matching necklaces. I got the heart and he wore the key. He wore the necklace for a good year and a half before it broke. I have my heart necklace tucked away in my jewelry box along with the key.

Now, when I opened the package there was a big seed in the box with Chinese writing on it. The manufacturer gives everyone who orders those necklaces a good luck seed.

That night when he got home from work, we planted it in a small paper cup.
When we got through planting it, I looked online and saw a couple other seeds that had words on them like love and smiley faces, and when they sprout, whatever is on the seed will be on the leaves. Super cool.

This weekend, we took the cup and planted it next to my front porch in the ground. When we took it out of the cup and put it in the soil, the seed was starting to sprout open. I can't wait to see it.

Wall Decals

Right after Samantha was born, Cayce bought a pack of princess wall decals for her room right after we moved into our new rental. Last Sunday, I was going through the bottom of Samantha and Ariana's closet and pulled them out. I was tired of moving it around, so finally I said let's put these bad boys up.

We started in Adalyn's room. We are thinking about getting a bunk bed with a trundle and put in Sammy and Airy's room and all three of the girls will sleep in there and Addy's bedroom will be transferred into a dressing room/ school storage.

I took pictures and they will be on here by room.

Congaree National Park = BUST!!!!!!

I have been looking forward to taking the kids to the Congaree National Park for a while now. We decided to go yesterday because they weren't calling for any rain. I stepped outside and it was SOOOOOOOO HOT! I came inside and checked the weather and it was 85 degrees. This was around noon. I was dreading the heat but I packed up a soda bottle full of nice cold water and we headed out.

The car ride their was intense because we hade to get on the interstate and I am just like my mom, I HATE IT. The interstate we had to get on was I-77 and there have been ALOT of accidents on this interstate lately. Fortunately we didn't encounter any traffic accidents, and got there safely after a few whining sessions about the mileage and how further we had to go from Cayce.

We got to the entrance sign and we had to go another mile to the parking lots, yea, Cayce complained AGAIN! When we found a parking space and opened the door, our first red flag popped up. We started getting bit by a million mosquitoes. We had to get the stroller out and the diaper bag and sippy cups and water into the strollers first and then we strapped in Ariana and Adalyn. By this time my patience started wearing then because it was scorching hot and the mosquitoes were getting on my nerves.

We got into the visitor's center where the light air conditioner didn't help at all and the smell of citronella nauseated me. We took some photos and walked around. We went back outside and passed the bathrooms where I should have looked to begin with. They have a mosquito meter. the levels are 1-6 with 1 being All Clear and 6 being WAR ZONE. Guess what the meter was on. 6!!!!!!!! I noticed this after walking 1.4 miles in the sun and being bit 70+ times and trying to keep the kids from being dehydrated and bit.

I have 71 mosquito bites on the back of my arms. Samantha got bit 17 times on arms and legs. Ariana got bit 7 times on her legs and back and Adalyn got bit once on the face. Cayce didn't get 1 single mosquito bite. When we were heading to the car, we went back into the visitor center, we got Samantha a junior ranger booklet to work on, so when we go back un late November-early December, she can be recruited.

Now after my little story, here are some pictures.
Right when we started walking. See how happy Cayce was. This didn't last very long.

Not happy after this picture. Next time, I will leave my shirt sleeves rolled DOWN!

One of the humongous trees in this park. They are called the Bald Cypress Trees.

Right before we left home.

This was in the visitor center. I don't know if this tree was real or fake.

The girls inside the tree.

Next time we go, I will pack more water, tons of bug spray, sunscreen lotion, and hats with pants and long sleeved shirts. My goal is to complete the 2.4 mile boardwalk trail that we didn't complete yesterday. We did 1.4 miles. .7 from the visitor center and .7 going back.

Letter Currriculum: Week 13

This week was a review week. We did letters F-J. All the lessons lasted between 30-40 minutes.
On Monday, we reviewed F.
Here are the books we read this week.

On Tuesday, we reviewed G.

We had sort of a rough day on Tuesday, but we got everything done.
On Wednesday, we did H.
I hate this red marker

Dancing to the hokey pokey..lol

On Thursday, we did the letter I. We had a late start and we finished in 35 minutes. Not very happy about it.
Listening to her music. Such a happy girl

On Friday, we did the letter J. We had Ariana next to us to see what we were doing and so she can get the hang of what we do.

She was being silly and she was happy that it was the last day of school for the week.

Amazon Shopping

I love window shopping on Amazon.com. I have a wish list that has over 1400 items on it. The items range from my favorite tv shows, to household items, toys. Anything and everything is on that list. What also makes amazon shopping more fun is that I get amazon.com gift cards when I do my Swagbucks.

I came up with the idea that I am going to save up my swagbucks till early October so I can get a BIG giftcard and get Ariana's birthday presents. Then after that, I'll work on Christmas, then Addy's birthday, Samantha's birthday, and Cayce's birthday.

I already have the presents that I'm going to get Ariana in my cart and I'm working my behind off on swagbucks.

I'm getting her Jake and the Neverland Pirates Jolly Roger ship, Doc McStuffins Big Book of BooBoos, Minnie Mouse the Wizard of Dizz DVD and a preschool workbook for her upcoming school year.

I'm going to work on the lists for the holidays listed above. I'm not going to get much for Christmas, one item for each kid and something useful for Cayce and I.

HELLO August

Can this year just SLOW down a bit? Last month flew by and the things on my to do list grew. I'm getting ready to start Ariana's homeschooling in October. I don't have any concrete plans yet, but I need to jump on it.

Cayce and I were discussing our holiday plans and that is more that has jumped on the band wagon.

And to start the month off, Adalyn has two doctor's appointments next week. One is an eye appointment and one is her 18 month checkup. Today, I got a phone call from the eye doctor saying that her Medicaid is inactive. I haven't had a anxiety attack in MONTHS, but today changed that. I had to give her member and state id and was told that if it was still inactive, I would get a call back. That was around 12:15. They close in an hour and they are not open tomorrow. I'm praying that I don't get a call back because then I'll know that it is still active.

I'm ready for this month because there are some new TV shows coming on and new seasons starting. One show I can't wait to see is the new season of Ghost Adventures. I'm also ready for the new season of The Real Housewives of Miami.

I'm ready to go to some of the festivals that we plan on attending and I'm ready for the new workshops this month for the kids.
