School Week 18 Recap

Our last full week of school for the year 2015. Next week will be 2 days only, and then the following week will be 3 days. But, back to this week. It was some fun.

Monday: We started the morning with morning work and then quiet time.

After quiet time they colored some Christmas pages. Sooo Pretty!

I love her tree

They watched a movie called The Swan Princess Christmas. After they helped me with one last Airheads Craft. We made holiday monster cupcakes. I had to do one more project to complete my Smiley360 task.

mixing the batter for the cupcakes

We made the eyeball out of white and green airheads

our "wazowski" cupcake.
That was the end of our Monday!

Tuesday: Today was kind of a work/relax day. The girls started off with their morning work and then I separated their quiet times. Ariana did hers first while Samantha wrote down her new sight words and did some copywork pages.

This was the only picture I took today because after they got done with what they were doing, Cayce wanted them to watch a Christmas movie with him. They watched Jingle All The Way 2 with Larry the Cable Guy and that one is now my fave out of the two Jingle All The Way movies.

After the movie, Cayce had to leave to go to work and so Samantha did her quiet time and she read some words out to me, and Ariana did some of her workbook pages. It was an easy Tuesday in my opinion.

Wednesday: We had a fun morning. We did morning work and we read some library books.

Then we listened to Christmas music for a good hour and a half
I found a Grinch Soundtrack!!!

Then we did quiet time together. I only did a little bit of quiet time because the book I was reading is just CRAP! My review/rant will be posted next month. Then they watched the Christmas Activity TV DVD. They each picked out activities that they want to do. Samantha wants to make Christmas cards and Ariana wants to make an elf puppet. So tomorrow, they will be doing Christmas cards and then on Friday, they are going to watch the 2nd disc of the DVD and they are going to make their own elf paper bag puppets.

Thursday: We did our usual morning work and chores. We worked on Christmas cards and their letters to Santa for a good part of the day. That lasted a good 2 hours. They wanted a much needed quiet time after that...lol.
My table was a complete mess.
I had to clean up so much glue and glitter glue.

The white cards are letters to Santa and the construction paper cards are their Christmas Cards.

I had the words written out on the white board. They just filled in their names and then I asked them what they wanted Santa to bring them and then wrote it on the board for them to copy.

My babies hard at work

They ended the day with playing Hi-Ho-Cherry-O. They absolutely LOVE that game.

Friday: The girls had a good day but I had a bad day. We started late. They did morning work and then they watched disc 2 of Activity TV. They chose to draw reindeer after the movie was done. After that, they did quiet time.

We read the library Christmas books again today. They love these books. I have to get copies of them. The Mickey Mouse books is ours.
We ended the day with doing workbooks. I planned on them doing computer work, but I was just to upset to even deal.

Christmas Tree Tag

I saw this video on youtube, and since I don't do videos yet, I decided to answer these questions because I liked them. I decided I am going to do these types of questions every year, some staying the same and changing some. If you want to see the video here it is.

Christmas Tree Tag

Here is my lovely tree!!!

Here are the questions.
🌲Real or fake?  Fake. I don't have time to deal with a real tree

🌲LED, color, or clear lights? I have clear and color lights on my tree

🌲Star or angel? When Cayce and I moved in together in 2008, we had a star. Last year we replaced our star and old tree and we got a angel and we were given this tree.

🌲Tinsel? heck no! too much of a hassel

🌲How tall is your tree? I think my tree is 7.5 ft

🌲Do you add candy canes?  It depends on whether we want candy canes that year or not. This year we do.

🌲Color coordinate ornaments? No. We use the same ornaments every year. We usually buy 1 or 2 new ones a year. This year I am going to get some clear ornaments and put my graduation tassel and Samantha's kindergarten tassel in them.

🌲When do you put up the tree? We always put our tree up on Thanksgiving

🌲How many trees do you have? I have 1 but I really want two. I want a tree all Georgia Bulldogs

🌲Ribbons and bows? Only if it is part of an ornament

🌲Your favorite ornament? My favorite is a snowman that lights up. My mom gave it to me last year and it was by far my favorite present from last year.

🌲Where's the tree in your house? The tree is against the wall in my living room. It used to be in front of my window, but we got a bigger one last year and had to move it.

🌲Is there a train set around it? I will put a train set around it once the kids get a little older

🌲Fake snow or frost? nope, too much mess

🌲When do you take it down? We take it down on New Year Eve or New Year's day.

I will be doing this tag again next year because I am planning on buying new ornaments and have homemade ornaments as well.

Library Haul #18

This is the last library haul of 2015. Next week is going to be 2 days and then the week after will be 3 days and we are going to be reading our own Christmas books and our own Christmas movies. So on with the haul>>>>>>>>>

1.The Swan Princess Christmas
They watched this move today during school. They loved it and I like the turtle. Reminds me of the turtle from Snow White. I love that turtle.

2. Bunny Christmas
I figured they would like the bunnies.

3. Snow Bear's Christmas Countdown
We are counting down the day with our countdown that is on the front door. They love that thing. We are using it for the 3rd year. I know that they would enjoy this one because of the countdown.

4. VeggieTales: The Little Drummer Boy
The girls love Veggie Tales. I had to get this for them and I am hoping that this is the one with Uncle Si in it from Duck Dynasty. If not, oh well.

5. Christmas: Activity TV
I am going to watch this with the kids and see if there will be any easy recipes we can do on Christmas Eve.

Hope you all have enjoyed this small haul. They will be back 3 weeks. Have a good New Year!!!!!

The Wanderers Review *some spoilers*

OMG........ GUYS, ya'll have to read this book. I am seriously thinking about getting this series for my birthday/Christmas. I don't care if I have to buy it myself. I LOVE IT!!!!! I requested to review this back in August and I started it on November 30th. Yes I am an idiot for taking so long to read it. But I finished it on December 4th. It took me a week to read it. If I didn't have my kids or a house to clean or my hubby, I would have finished it the same day I started it. I really want the second book in my hands right now. I don't want to read anything else, but I know I have to keep on with my other ARCs and get those reviewed. I have my review on Amazon and Goodreads. As always, here is my review. ENJOY my people!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**Amazon Review**

I got a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review and let me tell you, I am so glad that I requested to review it. It was one of those books that you can't put down and if you do, it is all you think about and are anxious to know what happens next. When I first started, it gripped me from the very beginning. It was heart wrenching learning that Ella and her boyfriend at the time was in a car accident. I hate stories like that and wanted to end it, because I figured it would be all sappy and woe is me.

The author developed these characters so perfectly. I liked Josie and Tristan. From reading the synopsis on Goodreads, I thought that the bad guy would be Tristan and not the other dude, but that is what makes the story so brilliant. Now, I did have a problem with all of the grammatical errors I was seeing. The story was amazing and everything was perfect, but the grammar. I had a problem with how the author used the word insistence instead of the word assistance. After that, I started to question was this work an original fanfiction at one point, maybe Twilight???  I have nothing against Twilight if the author did and I have nothing against fanfiction. I enjoyed learning that this book was indeed about vampires.

Finding out that this was not a stand-alone and it's the first in a four book series, I was excited. I hate that I finished it because I never wanted it to end, but the thing at the end with the person not....... living and the cliffhanger, I could do without.
