I HAVE FALLEN DOWN THE THRONE OF GLASS RABBIT HOLE!!!! And I am not mad about it. I will not be taking as long to pick up the third book, because I need to know what the hell happens. The identity has been revealed. Betrayals and blackmail and lots of killing have taken place. Magic is not necessarily gone away, just been shuttered more like. There is the stirrings of some sexy times. I don't understand why people don't like Chaol.
Is it a spoiler to say that Calaena is king's champion and she is now his assassin and she has to kill people that he tells her to and that if she fails her missions or doesn't come back from one, then her friends Nehemia and Chaol and their families will be murdered. That is what is hanging over her head the entire time during this and she is also trying to figure out how the king annihilated countries and militaries so quickly without the magic he hates.
Chaol and Calaena grow closer and relationships form and break. Nehemia and Calaena's frienship has the worst kind of fight where you say something and then you can't apologize for it later and you will spend the rest of your life regretting what was said.
I did cry and have heavy breathing when Fleetfoot was injured and taken by a monster. I did not want to read about an animal death. I have two dogs and three cats and my oldest cat is up in age and it will be a freaking miracle if she makes it to 2024.
The ending had me shook and I just wanted Chaol to run after her and hide away with her. What he found out, I am hoping that he doesn't think to much on it and become more fearful of Calaena or hold her background against her and turn against her.
This weeks topic is to share our anticipated reads for the first half of the year. I am only going to be doing this month and next month because since the Pandemic, book release dates are all the time changing and I can't keep up and it kind of makes me not want to read the book that much anymore.
I am always looking at the current month's releases lists on Goodreads and the upcoming month and making my own list that way.

On Thursday, my husband picked up my library holds for me and to say that I am excited to read these are an understatement. I want to put every responsibility of mine on the back burner and just sit and read read read. I have not had this feeling in a while. My librarian tried to spoil one of the books for my husband and it was one that I was going to read and have him watch the 1st season with me. My hubby is not a reader and even he was a little upset because he knows what to expect now. Here is my library haul. I have already finished Poirot Investigates and Lore Olympus volume 3.
I have some other books on my TBR that I own and on Netgalley that I will be getting to this month as well.
My husband started working on our outdoor kitchen again. He took the last month and a half off because work, weather and the holidays. It is coming along nicely and I seriously CAN NOT wait for the summer.

This is going to be more of a thought dump while I am reading. Of how I am feeling, what I am thinking and what I want to happen and what I am anticipating of what will happen.
Persephone has started her job in the underworld and the tension between her and Hades is so thick, that you can cut it with a knife. Also, very annoyed with how naive and childish she is acting around Hades. When she had the traumatic flashback and curled in on Hades to hide, I wanted her to freaking tell him so he could go kick some major ass.
Finally someone knows what happened to her and when this person found out, I upset all over again. This person was visibly upset and telling her that she needed to tell someone or at least go to a therapist to help with her mental health.
I laughed so hard when Artemis vowed to go key Hades and Zeus' and Poseidon's cars and then realizing that Poseidon doesn't have one and her being all bummed about it.
I am not a fan of Minthe and how catty all of the goddesses are to each other. Another thing I am starting to notice more and more is that every goddess is slutty and wearing short skimpy clothes. Even Persephone who is shielded and child-like, he wear a skimpy ass dress with her ass hanging out and her boobs on full display it seems.
This is the longest slow burn I have ever read. I am still interested in the series and will be picking up volume 4 when it comes out, but it will have to have something major happen or I will be putting this to the side.
Another Agatha Christie book read for my Agatha Christie challenge that is being hosted by the 52 book club. This is a collection of short stories about Hercule Poirot solving cases. I have realized that even though I love reading Agatha Christie, I just can't stand the long drawn out explanations of who-dun-it in the full length novels, and I found that the short stories were just too rushed and ended way to quickly.
There are eleven stories in this book and I liked a few of them. Some were basically the same as her other stories and some are just reminisces of past cases that Poirot solved. The last one broke my heart and gave the fact that Poirot wasn't always perfect and caught the right person, so that is why he adament every case that he gets the facts right and the right man.
Hastings annoyed me again like always. I don't mind him, but every single story he is always doubting Poirot and being a complete idiot and gasping about something that was plainly obvious. He is also a womanizer and his type for beautiful faces with auburn hair is annoying.
Overall, I gave this a 3 star. Am I a fan of Agatha Christie short stories? The answer is so so. I am looking forward to watching the adaptations of the episodes because I would like to see them play out and maybe have a little more substance.
Going into this volume, I was not expecting much because I haven't been blown away by the story so far and I was losing interest. I was so over all of the bullying and self doubt from Midoriya and the constant whining and then talking himself up at the very last minute.
I have to say that this is my favorite volume so far. I gave it a 5 star rating because it is all about the Calvary Battle and nothing else. The beginning is like a game of flag football but with headbands and points, and then a battle royale between the students at the end.
Two new people who were introduced had the most interesting quirks and I was shooketh. One was copy and I immediately became concerned that this person would ge the all might power if he touched Deku. The other was instant brainwashing. If the guy asked you a question and you answered, you would immediately become brainwashed unless it wasn't on purpose.
I am more interested now because on January 1st, I finally started watching the show with my kids and hubby. My hubby is the one who suggested that we watch it and it was good and funny. We only watched two episodes, but I am hoping that we get to sit down again and watch some more this week.
I can't wait for my hold on Volume 5 to come in because the cliffhanger on this one left me speechless and a little angry.

Review: I walk with Humans was not a favorite. It is about monsters who can change appearance and also humans who are just plain evil. Jacey is on the search for the man who took her brother. He is known as an important man because he is a politician. Go Figure! Her dad sold him and he has not been seen since. Jacey's father ends up dying and Jacey makes a friend with a dog who turns out to be a human who can change form.
