Danse Macabre Review

Book 14 of the Anita Blake is mostly sex. Seriously. It's basically a porn book. The time in the book is in the span of 24-36 hours.

But the big, I mean BIG thing in this story is the pregnancy scare. She is talking to Ronnie who was once best friends with Anita, now their relationship is strained because Ronnie is fixing to move in with her boyfriend and she is not excited but doesn't want to leave him because the sex is so good. She is jealous of Anita because Anita always wanted a monogamy and she has 7+ boyfriends.

The one thing that is starting to bother me about the books is that Laurell K. Hamilton gives unnecessary info dumps about what they are wearing and job descriptions, like she expects someone to pick up this book and just understand what the hell is happening.

Anyways, Ronnie gets pissy when Anita makes out with Micah and Nathaniel in front of her and drops the pregnancy bomb. Out of Anita's 7 boyfriends there are two possibilities of baby daddy. Nathaniel or Richard.

Now, on to the rest of the book, Jean-Claude has invited a variety of Masters of the City to a ballet performed by vampires. These master vampires also brought along candidates for Anita to choose a pomme de sang for her to feed the dreaded ardeur. In this time span of 36 hours she has sex 5 times with 7-8 guys.

Also, Anita has to fight off Belle Morte and the Mother of Darkness.
This was not one of my favorites because it mentions nothing of her two jobs.. vampire executioner or animator.
