Today we buried my great grandma. It was very hard. She was my family's rock. She was very loved and was always happy. She started going down hill when Samantha was in the hospital at 1 month old. She went into cardiac arrest, and I couldn't be there with her. She had many more hospital visits after that.
My daddy told me that the night before she died, she had trouble breathing and the pastor that was there on Saturday night, said right before she went, she looked up and smiled and took her last breath. My granddaddy was heartbroken. He was so in love with her, he didn't leave her side at all. They were together 60 plus years, and she was with my biological granddaddy a couple years before that.
Her funeral was good, but the funeral procession to the gravesite made me angry. Other cars kept jumping in and cutting us off, pretending to be in the procession just to turn a few miles down the road, and the cops not waiting for everyone, and us getting stopped by lights.
Cayce and I had to bring the girls with us, and it was FREEZING outside. The wind sucked. Right after the pastor spoke, we were the first one's to leave, and on our way out the garden, I saw the people who would put my grandma into the ground and I lost it when I saw the backhoe.
I just got off the phone with my daddy, and he said that I left just in time because after we left, everything went down hill. One of my cousins who leaved with her and was raised by her lost it and asked to open the casket to say bye to her, and my aunt lost it and went berserk.
But I know that she isn't suffering anymore, and that she is with my great uncle Mikey.
