This book starts off with Anita getting a phone call from Richard's brother saying that Richard has been arrested in Tennessee for attempted rape. So, Anita gets her panties in a twist and tries to go to his rescue. Jean-Claude shows up and says that she can't go because the local master vampire there would take that as a challenge for his territory.
She goes anyways with Damian and Asher, and two of her wereleopards Zane and Cherry. Jason also tags along because he is the treat for the vampires when they awaken every night. Anita sees Richard in jail and then she has a run in with the bad "good ole boys" who want to harm Richard. Richard gets out on bail and refuses to leave town because of the troll situation he is working on and he is also interviewing new lupas.... aka having sex with other women.
In this novel, Anita and Richard FINALLY have sex, the sheriff has his men and the "good ole boys" kidnap, torture and rape Richard's brother and mother to get Richard to leave town and to kill the troll population.
In the end, Anita makes a decision to stop seeing Richard and Jean-Claude both and learn how to control the marks between all three of them and take lessons from Marianne who is the witch psychic in the novel.
There is way more to this story, but then I will basically be re-writing the whole thing.
