Monday: We started an hour late because my sleep schedule got screwed up once again because of the Thanksgiving holiday. They had their morning routines and then Samantha did her reading time first while Ariana did her Easy Peasy lessons first.
After an hour, they switched with Ariana doing her reading time and Samantha doing her Easy Peasy
They got their new spelling words for the week. Luna is always laying by them when they sit in the hallway and it's cute.
We started a new Lesson Pathways history lesson today on The Aztecs. We of course watched YouTube videos on them and they enjoy it more than the Mayans.
Tuesday: We had another late start to the day. Morning routine and then we watched Sid the Science Kid while eating breakfast. During one of the episode, there was a mention of Mount Everest and they wanted to learn about that today, so I told them what I knew about it and then we watched a documentary on YouTube.
After the documentary, they drew their own pictures of Mount Everest and I love Ariana's. She drew people making their trip halfway and then on their second leg back down they die. Her little stick figure has x's on the eyes. It made me laugh hysterically.
We watched another video on the the Aztecs along with the Mayans and then we ended the day with reading time.
Wednesday: We had a normal start to the day and it made me feel productive and I could get shit done today. After their morning routine which consists of chores, calendar, notebooks and the pledge, they put their spelling words in ABC order and reviewed them for 10 minutes. Then they had their reading time together.
They worked on their All About Me books again today and they got another 6 sentences done with pictures. I can't wait till their pages are done so I can put them together as a book.
After spending a good hour on their all about me books, they got to color some Aztec Sun Stone coloring pages. We ended the day with watching a video on the Aztec Pyramids of the Sun.
Thursday: I didn't take any pictures today except of them opening their advent calendars which will be in another post that will be up sometime next week. We had another normal start to the day. They reviewed their spelling words and then both did reading time. They watched more Sid the Science Kid. To finish the day we started reading James and the Giant Peach. They LOVE Mr. Centipede. I like him too. This is one book from my childhood that I know I have read, but don't remember a thing about it.
Friday: I woke up early this morning and then went back to bed and I woke up feeling awful with a migraine. We had a late late start this morning and I was feeling bad enough that at first I was planning to postpone the day and do school tomorrow, but I thought it through and we went ahead with the day.
After their tests, they had reading time and then we read 5 more chapters of James and the Giant Peach. We then watched the movie because the movie has to go back tomorrow and they loved it. Something else I have to buy now.... *sigh* Samantha drew her favorite scene from the movie while Ariana finished her Aztec coloring page from Wednesday
So ready for the weekend. They have a Lowe's workshop tomorrow. Yes they still attend workshops. They started going back to the Lowe's workshops because during the summer they were doing the Home Depot and they didn't want to do The Avengers workshops that Lowe's was hosting. They definitely missed their friends at the Lowe's workshops and when they went back, the kids were all excited. Cayce said it was so cute.
